expressed loyalty or protective behavior that you have seen in your dog? You know, the kinds of things that warm the heart....

i have literally a ton of ways my dog is loyal and protective. at night he lays on my bed until i fall asleep and from what i hear from family, and friends that stay the night, he usually gets up after i fall asleep and he walks around and checks everyone and then goes and sleeps either in his crate near the door or on the couch near the windows, he never sleeps on the couch on the opposite side of the room.
one of the best things was when i had knee surgery (a year ago in october) he would sleep on my bed every night (my bed upstairs) and he would wait for me to come up even though i couldnt go upstairs (doctors orders) and i had to sleep in the guest room downstairs, and he slept on my bed until about 11:30 at night and then he would realize i wasnt coming down and he would come downstairs and he would lay down on my bed downstairs and lay with me through the night. i was in so much pain and i had many sleepless nights for about 4 weeks after the procedure. it probably killed him when i was in the hospital for a week.
also during the time i had surgery, i had to use crutches around the house and he would walk as slow as i would hop and he would stay with me and if i faltered he would get a panicked look in his eyes and he would lean against my crutch. and he would stand outside my bathroom door and wait for me to get done and then walk back with me to the chair and lay right underneath me.
and again during the recovery period, i needed help getting up from bed or from the chair because i couldnt lift my leg on my own and whenever anyone touched me and helped me up he would kind of stare at them and just have a panic look on his face.
again those are just a few examples of his loyalties and tendencies.

Well, My Golden came in to my room, I had fallen asleep..and grabbed my arm and took me to the kitchen where I had forgotten I had left a pan on the stove to boil water..Also the dog is so gentle and once an insurance man (said he was) insisted he come into my house to talk to me about purchasing insurance..I said "NO" and he proceeded up my sidewalk and in all my dogs years it is the only time he growled and bared his teeth..scaring off this potential intruder..he is 16 yrs old now!! What a love!
My German Shepherd is a friendly dog also and plays with the neighbors dog on occasion, my dog generally rolls onto her back showing submission..this neighbors dog came charging at me one day when we were walking and Destiny (my Shepherd) showed her colors..she stood her ground tail up growling fangs showing..backed the meaner dog off..and to think this is a dog who she generally when alone submits too..
Love my dogs, can't wait until all of the great stories!! good question!

I walk my APBT at night a lot. Especially when I can't sleep. And everytime I start to get scared when walking down dark streets or when someone trys to walk up to me she stands tall and shows a little teeth. Just to let me know I'm protected and safe.

Yes, I do.
Once, when I was very very sad over a family member died & I was crying.
Cameo came and sat on my lap and licked away my tears. Not just a few tears, all of them. She just looked at me with her big sad eyes as if she felt my pain....so loyal. When I stopped she stayed with me all night and every once in awhile gave out a little sigh.

an akita they are big and really really really good gaurd dogs and very loyl to there owners and family and even people they know but the thing about them is they arent very socail and they usually dont like toher dogs or animals unless they are in the family like other dogs or cats but they can be broken of that if you socailize them in puppy school, dog parks, with other family dogs, etc. when they're a puppy

well i was babysitting tonight,
i brought my little loo kahh up to see the kids.
there 4 and 8.
and luca would stalk me cry when i left the room constantly asked to be picked up *he will get up on his back feet and push me lol* and he was sitting on my lap and the 4 year old playfully slapped me and got luca mad he barked and showed his teeth, i scolded luca for this, because he shouldnt be mean to a little kid, but yet, he didnt know he thought i was being hurt, and ian (the 4yr old ) shouldnt of been slapping me in the first place!
lol!
oh and I am the only one that can pick him up, i hold him on my hip like a baby and he clutches to me and rests his head on my shoulder.

i have many.
when ever my dog is chewing a toy he would come to me and sit on my lap, when ever i am gone for five mins he always wants a belly rub, when ever he does something wrong, i punish him, but when ever i do that, he always sits down next to me and licks my face to say he is sorry. there are some cats that always come to my house and want to eat, my little buddy always protects me. rright now even as i am typing these he is sitting with me and licking my face.
hope this helped!

I don't sleep well, my dog Alexis will not go to bed until I do. Poor dog has spent many sleepless nights with me.

One time when I was walking my dog Mia(aka Boo Boo). Some guy came up to us and started getting "inapropriate". I told him to leave but he wouldn't so he grabbed my arm so Boo Boo tried to rip is off. He let me be then and haven't seen him sense.
