If a manager gets fired a year after getting to the World Series-who would manage the All Star game?

This could almost never happen if a manager makes the World Series the previous year, but hypothetically speaking let's say Willie Randolph made the World series last year, lost and still got fired this year. He would be the NL manager of the All Star game still. Who then would be the manager-the new Mets manager or someone else?

Especially significant since the winner would determine home field advantage in World Series.

Update:

Actually I wiki'd it and the answer is Willis Randolph-it's the manager not the team as evidenced by Dusty in'03 like someone said. And the answer to Bill K's question is Mauch/Lopez but I think it still should have been Berra/Keane. They should have switched back leagues for one day especially since it didn't count back then. However, what if Dusty had come back in '03 in the AL? Then, who gets to manage the AL or NL? I think '03 was first year winner counted so that would be interesting dilemma if Dusty still got to manage NL.

I would guess that manager would still be able to manage the all star game if there was nothing in the contract between the owners and the commissioner that outlaws this from happening. If there is something in the contract that says the manager cannot be there, then there should be a remedy in place that states, which manager would replace him.Probably the manager who lost to the world series entrant.

As bo-sox said above, the manager who replaces the fired manager might be the correct answer.

In 1964 the Yankees played the Cardinals in the world series and lost. They fired their manager (Yogi Berra) and hired the manager away from the Cardinals (Johnny Keane).

Anybody know who managed the 1965 all stars in both leagues?

The manager of the second place team in the league. If the Mets played the Phillies and won, but the Met's manager got fired, the Phillies manager would do the all star game

i do no longer think of the All megastar recreation could be certain who gets homestead field benefit except they adjust the rule that each team needs to have one participant. With this rule you may no longer say that the two communities are making use of actually the terrific of the league and as a result it may be an exhibition. homestead field could bypass to the team with the terrific checklist or in line with risk they could have a a million recreation playoff in a independent internet site to be certain who gets it.
