Is Obama just another 'say whatever it takes to get elected' politician, or is he genuine?

Obama is making himself out to be an everyday politician. Once he secured the left vote, he shifted more centered. He is playing the political game rather than showing he is a man of conviction.

If they are running under the Democratic or Republican party you can bet that they will tell the voters what they want to hear.

The party will not nominate someone who is not mainstream and the American people want to hear easy answers not the difficult truth.

Why did John McCain change his stance on drilling offshore and in ANWR earlier this year. Was it because he now thinks it is a good idea? More likely it was a ploy to appease the voters who think that drilling offshore would immediately remedy the higher gas costs.

Mr. Obama will do the same as Mr. McCain and flip his position on anything if it would mean more votes. That is what happens with our two party system. That is another reason why I like third party candidates. They speak their mind and tell the ugly truth. The truth that many voters do not want to hear.

Just look at what he has done, who he has affiliated himself with, and how he presents himself. Listen to what he says, especially when he speaks to 2 different groups on the same day. Write down how many times he changes his mind, doesn't matter from which side.

While I agree that McCain is an insider, I don't think of him as a crook. I can't believe we have 2 senators preaching about how they will change congress, but they did nothing to change it while they were there? Do they think it will be easier to change it from the outside? This is just a bad election year.

Comrade Obama is genuine. He is a genuine Marxist, a genuine socialist, a genuine communist. He genuinely doesn't care about the Constitution of the United States or the limits that have been placed on the power of the federal government. I will genuinely worry about America if he is elected.

Why are you calling McCain a crook? He has an extensive record of service to the country. Obama, on the other hand, is a manufactured candidate; he has accomplished nothing with his life. His lack of experience shows every time he opens his mouth, most recently with his inconsistent statements on the Georgia/Russia conflict.

I believe his intentions are good and he will be a breath of fresh air once elected. But in order to do good you have to be elected. Ralph Nader has good intentions but he is totally unelectable as is Bob Barr. You can call him a flip flopper and lying political scum but you can't lead the team to victory if you are sitting in front of TV watching the game from home.

I don't think so, actually I'm of a mind that Obama is what this country needs because he's a mixture of two races that unfortunately has disliked/hated each other for centuries.

I ask myself, why are so many white people terrified of Obama? I honestly believe whites are afraid he will ignore their needs and treat them in the same manor Blacks and other minorities have been treated for century in this country. I don’t believe this is so because it would mean, he would be turning his back on his own people.
