what the hell is answer-video.com?

i asked a question and one of the answer was a link to answer-video.com which looked like yahoo answers

then a pop up asked me to download a media codec...so i ended the firefox.exe process.....if this a safe site??

    It's a virus don't click on it I did and it gave me a false codec.

    This person will be spamming people's answers and advertise this site called answer-video.com and you'll have to download something. When the download's done, you try to double click it and it says that a problem has occured. Then a codec will pop up saying something went wrong. And if you click ok, your Antivirus program will popup saying that it's a trojan. I recommend you not to click it or else your PC will be infested with virus.

    It's a site that will try and download a Trojan horse fake media codec. There are spammers on here who post links to these sites.

    Download this free tool http://www.explabs.com/products/lslite.asp

    Simply right-click then click Quick Scan, it'll scan links and will let you know if it's malware.

    No, its a virus. Its a type of malware, etc.
