11 week puppy scared of car?

We have an 11-wk female puppy (sheltie; ~5lb). She is pretty skittish of a lot of things. Every time we get her close to cars or put her in the car (including car rides) she freaks out. She starts trying to run the other direction & pulls on leash. When in the car even without it started, we get similar behavior, but also will not accept her favorite treats (we've also tried all kinds). If we start the car or drive, she also starts shaking and yawning. Is this something she will eventually outgrow with age or is there something we can do to make progress with this?

Believe it or not, dogs get car sick. My lab use to get so upset around cars and during rides, that she would throw up and have diarrhea. I just kept taking her for short rides and now after 2 years she does great. I'm sorry that I can't be more helpful, but she will eventually get over it if you keep her around them and take her for rides often.

My dog used to be like that.

Everytime we got into the car, we made it seem like it was going to be the funnest thing in the world. We would smile, and stuff like that. We were also carefuly to stroke her gently, kiss her and give her lots of love.

I don't know if it really worked, but my dog is the first to get on the car now. Hope this helps!

Ignore her behavior. Don't baby her. She will only get worse. Mine did. Then I went to an animal behaviorist and also googled it and I learned a lot on how to treat fearful animals.
