  • Buy Living Room Set Now?

I'm thinking of buying a Living Room set. Originally we had planned to buy after saving up the money and maybe after tax returns come through. Well after shopping this week, 2-3 companies are offering 50-70% off their sets. Should I buy now considering the sales or is this perhaps a marketing scheme and there will be equally as good sales/prices in a month or 2?

  • Best way to store & organize Over The Counter Medicines?

Does anyone know of a better way to store your medicine (non-prescription)? We've always just dumped them into a box and then over time they fall out of their boxes, etc. This would include aspirins, Tylenol, cold, cough, sinus, allergy medicines, etc.Does anyone have a cool/neat way of organizing these things that they would like to share?

  • TV for OSU-USC Tailgate?

We're planning to tailgate for the OSU-USC football game on Saturday 9/12. Ideally we'd like to televise the game, but we don't have a subscription to Dish or DirecTV, etc. The game is apparently only on ESPN (not ABC). Does anyone know of a way to get the game without having to subscribe to one of the satellite companies (trying to do this on the cheap :-)).

  • How to attaching a ring to a flower?

I'm planning to propose to g/f soon (tonight probably) and wanted to attach the ring to a flower. Any idea how best to attach it without risking it falling off? We may be somewhere that if the ring falls, we may never see it again. :-)

  • Excessive Radon found during Home Inspection?

A house that we're in contract on was found to have a level of 12.9 Radon gas. EPA recommends a level of 4 or higher to be fixed. I'm pursuing getting the seller to pay for that, but the question I have is if others would trust a house (even if its fixed) that previous had high levels of radon if you have kids, etc? Thoughts??

  • Adding 2 tweeters to existing Amplifier?

I'm going to start this out by saying I'm pretty new at this, but I'm good at following instructions and I am decently technical.

I have an already existing 2 x 10" subwoofer trunk system with amplifier (Sony XM-502Z). This isn't an overly elaborate setup, but I wanted to add 2 tweeters to the box. So I installed the 2 tweeters for a total of 4 speakers (2 woofers, 2 tweeters) in my box. I basically hooked the tweeter cable up directly to the woofer cables on the actual speaker (+ to +'s, - to -'s) inside the box. The box has bridged wiring to the amp. When I turn the system on, the woofers still work fine, but I get no sound from the tweeters. Anyone have any idea how I should be hooking this up?

  • Christmas - Large Families - How do you exchange gifts?

I am 29 y/o, unmarried, no kids. All my siblings have kids and it seems out family is growing and growing. My g/f of 2 years...I'll also have to buy A lot for her family. I'd like to propose to my family to do a gift swap of sorts, but I wanted to get a feel for how others handled large families. Am I just being whiny or is it weird that I have to buy for like 6-7 kids, 5-6 adults, and then my g/f & her family too. What does your family do?

  • Training Question. Getting a Sheltie pup from getting close to feet?

A little background. We have a 12-13 week old sheltie puppy. Very small (~5.5lb). Last week we were running around in the yard and she accidentally got under my feet and I stepped on her and broke/fractured her leg. Since a sheltie is a herding breed, I know they're prone to trying to herd and being right by my side. However, I'd like to do what is best for her. We've gotten her used to doing basic beginner walks to our left, but she is only a pup and isn't always consistent yet. The night of the accident, it occurred when we were running/playing and she darted under my feet. I obviously want to do what is safest for her and to NEVER have this problem again. Any suggestions on helping be safer?

  • 11 week puppy scared of car?

We have an 11-wk female puppy (sheltie; ~5lb). She is pretty skittish of a lot of things. Every time we get her close to cars or put her in the car (including car rides) she freaks out. She starts trying to run the other direction & pulls on leash. When in the car even without it started, we get similar behavior, but also will not accept her favorite treats (we've also tried all kinds). If we start the car or drive, she also starts shaking and yawning. Is this something she will eventually outgrow with age or is there something we can do to make progress with this?

  • Help Housebreaking Puppy - Eliminating in Crate

We have an 11-wk old Sheltie puppy. Got her when she was 8 weeks old. We've been having difficulty housebreaking her. We started her off on puppy pads the first week until she got her 2nd round of vaccines. Been trying to swtich her to going outside. She's making decent progress in pee'ing outside. We always reward her well with high-level treats (been using lunch meat or hot-dog pieces) when she goes outside. However, she seems to think that inside and/or her crate is the place to go poop.

    Here is her approximate schedule,

5am - Wake, Immediately go outside to poop/pee

6-7am - She eat 1st meal, we get ready for work, play a little

    7-7:30 - outside to poop/pee

    7:30-1130 - work/crate

    1130-1230/1 - poop/pee; eat 2nd meal, poop/pee

    1-5p - work/crate

    5p - poop/pee; eat 3rd meal; poop/pee; play

    7p - eat 4th meal; poop/pee

    9p - bed/crate

She normally doesn't eliminate in her crate during the night. Only during the day when we're at work.

It seems like she just refuses to go outside and will actually hold it until inside. The other day I took her on a walk hoping that it might activate her to have to go (and I knew she had to poop because it had been a while and she hadn't gone yet). Well about 15-20 minutes into it, she started freaking out and started running as fast as she could back to the apartment. I wouldn't let her in at first; butr after about 10 minutes of her trying to get inside, I let her into the apmt and she pooped in the apartment.

Anyone with ideas on changing this behavior? I'm fearing she is getting comfortable with eliminating in crate and we definitely do not want that!! I know she is still young, but I want to ensure we are progressing with her and not regressing.

  • What type of Dog is best for us?

We recently moved into an apartment complex that will allow dogs up to 50lbs. Our (my g/f & I) plan is to move into a house next year or year after. We'd prefer a medium to large dog.

We'd rather not get a dog that needs to be exercised extensively due to us both working and living in an apartment. Although we don't want a lazy one either. I'd prefer the kind that we could take jogging and/or play fetch. But not sure if that is feasible.

We don't have kids, but plan to at some point down the line. Any suggestions for our lifestyle and desires?
