Should we boycott the Sochi Russia Olympics in 2014??

Are you mad at Russia about the recent Georgia conflict? For crying out loud, I recently found out there's going to be a freaking Winter Olympics held near the Georgia border in 2014! Yeah, the Sochi Russia Winter Olympics in 2014! Sochi is right next to Georgia(country). Should we boycott the Winter Olympics in 2014?? If Russia doesn't pull out of Georgia, then we shouldn't go to their Olympics!

Update:

Well, what do you think about the location then?? Sochi is right next to Georgia! I mean the Sarajevo Olympics was successful but the war in the Balkans happened after that. This time the war(or military conflict) is happening before the Olympics! Are we going to have the Olympics in a war zone? Is the IOC going to change the location for the 2014 Olympics? Wake up folks are we going to send athletes to a war zone?

Take a look at where Sochi is located! If you zoom out you'll see it's right next to Georgia.

It's a little too early for that. I mean, the 2014 Sochi Winter Games are six years from now--a lot can happen during that time, and in all probability, by 2014, the events that happened in Georgia will be little more than a blip on the historical map.

Actually Usa plays too much with these new independents countries in border Russia.

Just remember Cuba and Usa reaction in 60's .

Buildings Otan military bases near oil pipes and sea access(North Russia have seas access only 6 month a year thats why they never get back from Tchetchenia) is not a really good idea

I find it a bit dangerous in a time when i was thinking trying to make good relationships with Russia was not pushing them to arm Muslims

To what ends? A little information is a dangerous thing. Just a wild guess here but I'm thinking the average couch-surfing Yahoo'er hasn't a clue as to what is going on in Russia, much less care enough to marshal his insignificant contribution to their punishment. If you want to make a positive contribution to the world you should dedicate yourself to raising good children.

No -we should not boycott their Olympics. Be it Adolph Hitler, Black September, or Jimmy Carter -- they were all wrong to politicize the Olympics.

Why would anyone be mad at Russia stepping in to protect their smaller ally when the U.S. is about to do the same thing?

Don' worry, Georgia is not dangerous any more.
