is there anyway you can transfer PC Programs to MAC??

Question

im using adobe premiere pro cs3 on basically a borderline crappy comp. a dell optiplex. gx260 i think. with a pentium 4 and 1 gig of ram...the program is rele laggy. everybody tells me to get a mac for video editing. but since it took me sooooooooo long to learn to use it, i rele dont wanna re learn how to use something like final cut. i know that premiere pro is MAC compatible. but i have it for PC. is there anyway AT ALL. that i can transfer all the necessary files to mac via flashdrive and use re use it there. or do i have to get premiere pro for mac? cuz damn...well thats just expensive. if i can get premiere pro on there, do i have to do the whole re install, serial number thing and all that? if so, i heard i have to deactivate the software on my other comp first...how do i do that? i remember my friend saying something about pc compatibility with mac. but idk...ANYONE WITH THE ANSWER PLEASE HELP! MEE!! im thinking of getting a mac with atleast a dual core processor with 2 gigs of ram. i heard of using something called bootcamp..what is that?? haha

Applications NO but you can transfer the files from Adobe Premier Pro on PC to Mac as long as you have Adobe Premier Pro for Mac which will open them. Same goes for any other application where you have PC files that you want to transfer over to Mac - you can as long as you have the Mac version of the App. The PC version is NOT Mac compatible.

With regards to having to "re learn" something like Final Cut after using Premier - it is not actually that bad since you should already understand the fundamentals of how the app should work. FCP does come with a bunch of tutorials to get you started

As for which Mac to get - either the 24" iMac with 3.06 Ghz CPU which will take up to 4GB of RAM which is essential when running apps like FCP and Photoshop together.

Where the only limit to how much RAM it will take is determined buy your budget.

I originally learned Adobe Illustrator and then went and learned Macromedia Freehand - the transition is not as bad as you would expect.

The only other way around that would be to get VMware for your Mac and install Windows on that so that you can run Adobe Premier on Windows on your Mac - though FCP would still kill that.

If you run Bootcamp you will boot up in either Windows or Mac where as if you run VMware you can run both together which is great as OS X kills Vista or XP.

@ pepeclerkin: You can use all these installation discs with a Mac by installing Windows 7. None of the discs can be used to install OS X versions of these apps. @refsocrd1: This guy didn't ask about the quality of the brand. Would you nag about "Don't buy a BMW, Your old Ford is the same specs: 4 wheels and a windscreen"? You CANNOT buy a comparable PC for 1/3 the price (US$350 / £217). A cheap PC will not have a MagSafe power cord, aluminium enclosure, Thunderbolt, built-in high-res camera, built-in 802.11N Wi-Fi, built-in BlueTooth, built-in Mic, and i5 processor. You are short-sighted to compare only graphics MBs and processor clock cycles. You also are wrong about Boot Camp. It is not an emulator. It is a partitioning utility that allows a fully bootable installation of Windows 7. There are no dual-platform installation discs for any of these apps.
