Is a Furminator's job ever done?
I got my furninator a couple of weeks ago. I've been using it just about every day on my long-haired chihuahua -- and I'm still getting lots of fur out. Will it ever start coming up empty?!?

It will NEVER be empty. It's only used to help get rid of Excess hair..
When the dog stops shedding there should be a Significant Decrease.
Unti then, Furnimator AWAY my dear.... :)

Haha! I wondered the same thing about using the Furminator on my Chocolate Lab. However, I started using Derm Caps (oil supplement) from Drs. Foster and Smith and my dog sheds SO MUCH less.

The first day I bought and used a furminator, I spent seven and a half hours (STRAIGHT!) combing and brushing until it came up empty. I have three dogs, and I had to do it on only two, but sixteen hours is a lot of grooming time.
BUT two days later, my house was fur-free.

It won't come up empty, but it'll get much less than when you started. Dogs blow their coats a couple of times a year. Try a zoom groom too; it won't strip his coat and it'll distribute the oils.

We used it on our shelties today and had enough hair left over for another dog. During the summer you need to brush you dogs every day to help them to be cooler. I like brushing my dogs, it is a good bonding and quiet time for us.
