I'm trying to remember a horror movie title from the early 70's can anyone help?

When I was a kid (I was born in 1970) my dad took me to see a Sherlock Holmes movie in the theater. I don't remember what the movie was called but think it was about Jack the Ripper in the plot. BEFORE that movie started there was a trailer for a horror movie that gave me nightmares for years to come.

What I remember

There was a monster like with horns that was screaming

There was a scene where a girl is driving down a highway and he jumps up from the back seat

There is a scene where this devil thing is screaming and like frothing at the mouth all mad.

Never saw it but would love to track it down. I'm thinking release date would be between 1974-1979 if that helps. Any ideas on this? I would love to rent it and conquer my childhood fear from what 30+ years ago!
