What is better for playing video games, LCD or Plasma T.V.?

ok, 1st things first..... you bought a tv that is being used for gaming. At the price you paid, I have to assume the TV is rated at 1080P. PS3 and xbox360 have a maximum resolution of 1080i (not as good as 1080P). The exception is that PS3 is compatible with BluRay, displaying 1080P. So, if the TV is going to be used view BluRay formatted movies, then you're going to be fine with the TV you have purchased. Otherwise, you have bought more than you need. Now, at $2400 for a 50" TV, you have ventured into the high end of the plasma market. If this TV isn't an LG 50PG60, then you have WAY overpaid for what you are getting. You should pay under $2000 for 50" plasma.

Ghost images and image burn-in are a thing of the past with plasma. No worries there.

I'd say LCD because although plasma's have vastly improved in the past 4 years they still tend to run hot and burn themselves off. LCD's of all the new technologies tend to have the longest shelf life also if you have a budget like you stated it really opens your option's because the prices have dropped off and for 24 hundred goes a long way. I'd personally go for Sony or Samsung due to there track record, picture quality, and refresh rates that really tend to aid if you are playing high end games or watching HD formats like HDV or blu-ray video, so to you id suggest a 52' Samsung LCD Flat-panel display that is currently $2,300. In the sources I listed the television. So id suggest to put a stop and reorder it. The only difference between the plasmas and LCD is the contrast ratio(Black difference) and if you purchase a decent one that is not an object in the least.
