It was a complete shock. I thought there was a lot of interest for Pargo here within the NBA and he wasn't a restricted free agent. He just happened to find a lucrative one year contract to play for Moscow. Maybe more money than a team in the US was willing to offer. He was such a quick guard coming off the bench I thought he provided scoring and quickness that a team like San Antonio could've used. It's only a one year deal so maybe he'll return to the NBA after the deal expires but he's cashing in on his abilities as he might've reached his prime at 28 years old. Of course he might also decide to finish his career for the Russian team or in the European league.
I think the Hornets just couldn't offer Pargo the type of money overseas due to their lucrative contract to James Posey.
