If they both make it into the playoffs there's a great possibility. In my opinion, Arizona is the only NL team (with Webb and Johnson) that has a chance of beating the Cubs. If the Cubs get by them they'll win the NL pennant. The so called "experts" have discounted the White Sox and Twins for most of the year (picking either Detroit or Cleveland to win the Central). Don't discount the idea of the wild card winner coming out of the AL Central. If the White Sox make they playoffs Buehrle, Danks and Vazquez (when they're on) can shut down any offense. Quentin, Dye and to a lesser degree Konerko, Thome, Pierzynski, Swisher and Ramirez can provide plenty of offense. Anything can happen in a short series.
At one point in time Chicago had 2 teams in the NFL (Cardinals and Bears) that had a tremendous rivalry, playing in front of overflow crowds at Wrigley Field and Comiskey Park.......in the last game of the 1947 and 1948 seasons they met for the division championship.........intense games, fans and atmosphere.
An all Chicago World Series would be great for the city and there would be high interest throughout the nation. Also, as intense as it would be the city would survive .

I'd say about 1:5. The Cubs are arguably the best team in the NL, with maybe the only other competition being the Brewers. So the Cubs getting to the World Series is relatively likely, although if they might have to play the Diamondbacks in the NLDS. It only takes 3 wins to win the NLDS and the first 3 starters for the Dbacks: Webb, Haren, and Johnson. The first two are also Cy Young contenders this year.
The White Sox will have to fight off the surprisingly good Twins, because I don't see the White Sox winning the Wildcard, but the Red Sox. The White Sox will probably have to go against the Rays and as good as the Rays have been, I don't think they can do it in the postseason.

I'm no Cubs fan but it's very possible for that to happen. The Cubs been hitting great and their starting pitchers. So have the White Sox, competing in the Central Division, which is extremely competitive and tough. I also don't think the Minnesota Twins can beat the White Sox so I can see them making the playoffs. I either hope to see the Cubs/White Sox World Series or the Dodgers/Angels Freeway Series. Both of them matchups will be not only interesting to watch but the likelihood of that happening is pretty high.

It means the Cubs would have to win a couple series and ditto the White Sox

More likely if the White Sox win their series against the Red Sox, Rays, and Angels, which are in the near future.
If they win these series, then we will have a Cross Town Classic, Civil War, and riots in Chicago.
(The Red Sox are EQUAL to the White Sox and Twins, not better.)

likely. The White sox just need to take care of the pesky twins and they could win the central division. and in a short postseason series anything can happen! I think the cubs have an easier road to the WS, but it's not unlikely to have a chicago subway series.

Not all that likely. The Angels, and maybe even the Rays are better than the Sox...
Oh, and don't forget the Red Sox as well...
