Dell Inspiron e1505 laptop doesn't boot/post.?
I have an e1505 laptop and it does not boot up. When I press the power button, the numlock, capslock, and scrolllock leds light up for about 2 seconds and turn off. The power led lights up and stays lit up. The laptop also warms up so I know it's getting power and the cpu and gpu are both getting power (this is confirmed because I opened up the laptop to reset the bios). I reset the bios and the same thing is happening: nothing shows up on the screen. I also attempted to connect it to an external monitor and still no joy, BUT the monitor will leave sleep mode when I first turn on the laptop and go back into sleep mode a few seconds later. So again, there is power and it has nothing to do with the battery or the AC adapter that is so often the problem. Nothing ever happens on the screen. It is always black. Also, the activity light never lights up. Pressing the power button again turns the computer off immediately. The cpu and gpu get pretty warm but the fan doesn't kick on at all.
Any other ideas for me to look into?
Thank you!

Did you recently upgrade the memory (right before this started happening?) If so, pull the new chip and put in the old one and see if it boots.
If it does not (or you haven't made any recent hardware changes) then something on the motherboard has probably failed.
Your best option would be to take it to a shop for analysis.
