The believer does not reaffirm in his mind that there God is real, he simply seeks to ensure that his action is in the Will of God. It recognizes that he/she lives for God and understands that He will guide their way, if they let Him.

Instead of standing on the fence and mocking both sides, show some backbone and take a stand one way or another. By your reasoning the atheist and the Christian are at least deciding for themselves. You are outside laughing at everyone. Does that make you feel superior?

Both the atheist and Christian hold firm to their beliefs. At least both sides show some backbone and character until they start bashing someone out of the blue. Then they are just you, all over again.

If you gave me solid evidence for the existence of a deity, I would acknowledge it. Could you say the same thing for believers..? Many of them are so emotionally attached to their religion, nothing could ever change their mind! They believe because they WANT to believe, not because of critical evaluation.

My beliefs and disbeliefs are constantly open to examination! I love reflecting over stuff, learning new things and questioning everything there is. That's how I became an atheist in the first place! Because I questioned Christianity, and eventually realized that it didn't make sense. I have changed my mind on many other issues also, throughout my life.

Now, who of us IS the more open-minded one..?

I'm not sure i understand the question but for the people who are asking why the asker is writing "G-d" instead of "God" it might be because the asker is Jewish (?)

I know that when I was younger I always wrote God that way, it's more respectful. Now I don't really do that but....it probably has to do with his/her religion.

Can the person that believes in God also believe that God may not exist? That would be open-minded.

What you're trying to do with your atheist hatespeech isn't working. I do have an open mind about the possibility of a god. I just want some proof. But the god concept is not probable.

I agree. It is not open minded to simply say "it isn't so". An open mind spends a life searching.
