If you flunk out of college once, can you restart as a freshman in a new university?

Your a freshman at a current college and you didn't earn your credits by ether flunking, late payments, not liking the school or a combination of any. You have used a small portion of your financial aid but you have paid it back in full because a reimbursement is required for students who didn't earn college credits. Is it possible to restart as a freshman in another university?

Even if you are 40 years old, you will be a Freshman at whatever school you attend until you complete enough credits to qualify as a sophomore. Freshman is a rank, not a length of time.

For most schools, if you have completed a semester at another college, then you are a transfer student. Some schools consider you a transfer if you have attended another college at all, even for a few days. It depends. But if you have not completed the term, then a lot of schools will consider you a new student and will do your application the same as if you were a HS kid applying from high school. So you need to check with the individual school you want to get in to.

It is not that unusual for a new college student to drop out, so don't think of it as a big deal. Just contact the school you want to go to and see what they say. There are 4,000 colleges in the US and lots of them will be happy to have you. Think positive.

    Good luck.
