Why did so many people complain about McCain's attack ads?
But when Obama released one, I don't see dozens of people saying how it is just old politics etc. Why is this?

That's McCain's entire plan...just keep running attack ads as opposed to talking about issues. Sad, really, but hey..."He deserves a shot at the Prize".

Sigh.
Not everyone lives in a swing state so not everyone sees the ads (unless they run them on the news).
If you had described it, or linked to it, I'd know what it said.
Is it really an attack ad, in the sense of being a mindless, irrelevant attack full of lies, or was it an ad that questioned or attacked something that McCain really said or did, or plans to do? The latter would be legitimate, unlike the ads I've seen from McCain. (Since Obama is NOT Paris Hilton, there's no reason to pretend they're the same person, for instance.)

I think since both Obama and McCain said they where going to run a clean campaign with no attack ads. people where disappointed in McCain when he was the first to go negative.
I think Obama is getting way with it a bit more because McCain lowered the bar and some feel that it's only far that Obama attacks back.
if Obama was the first to go negative people would have spoke out about their disappointment in him and McCain would have been free to go negative, because Obama took all the early fire and no one would care by the time McCain did it.

Because some of us, (even us McCain supporters) know he can do so much better than that. I want to see McCain call Obama out for his Socialist leanings, and Obama's inabilty to show courage against his own Party.
Obama, learned from his political godfather, Illinois State Senator Emil Jones, how to vote "present" as a way to avoid conflict. "Present" is a coward's vote.
Recently Emil Jones voted "present" because he was demanding a raise, but political pressure made him allow a vote in the Illinois Senate that was designed to block the otherwise "automatically approved" payraise. Even Democrats in his own State knew it was wrong to be asking for a payraise when the taxpayers of Illinois can barely pay for food and fuel.
