State University and No Debt or Out of State?
I live in South Carolina. I can easily be accepted to University of South Carolina (most likely Honors College) and Clemson University (Also Honors College). I also have a rather good shot at UNC Chapel Hill, University of VA, Boston College, and several other similar level schools. I also have a decent chance at Brown and Cornell Universities.
My question is: Should I attend an in-state public school and (with instate tuition and instate-only scholarships) have almost no debt, or should I go to one of the other aforementioned schools and have any from minor to substantial debt? How can I determine which is the best return on investment? I'm going to work very hard no matter which school I attend.
Thanks very much.
2 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoObama infers Palin is a pig?
I saw another question with no source on this so I thought I would provide one.
Do you think this is an idirect reference about Palin? The crowd seemed to think so.
16 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy don't politicians have sane pastors?
It seems every candidate now has a crazy pastor. Do you think so?
8 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy do Christians get into so many debates online and what is the point?
Why do so many people spend time debating these things online? Has anyone ever been like, "Oh good point! I'll change my mind!" because of something someone said to them online?
For Christians: Are you really trying to save the person because you love them or do you want them to just admit you are right?
For Atheists: What is the point of arguing so much? We are all gonna die and according to you, we will all be nothing, so why not just let everyone live how they choose if none of it matters?
I'm a Christian and sometimes I think we forget that the point of talking about our faith is to help people and not to prove we are right. What do you think?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes Obama not understand that the reason jobs leave America...?
is because corporations leave America. These corporations leave America because the US has the second highest corporate tax in the world. The only country with a higher corporate tax than us is Japan. Shouldn't we be lowering these taxes so US and foreign businesses will want to build here instead of the other way around? What do you think?
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow many people hear are actually old enough to vote?
I'm not old enough to vote. I have a feeling 95% of you are under 18. Right?
32 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf Democrats on here are so intent on making Palin's kids fair game...?
Does that mean that Obama's kids, Muslim Father, poor brother, teenage mother, Crazy Pastor, Connections to Rezko Corruption, race, etc. are all fair game now too? If the candidates kids aren't off limits, why are so many things said about Obama just considered racist?
11 AnswersElections1 decade agoDemocrat wants draft to make a political point?
Is everything Democrats do with the war for political purposes? Obama willing to vote against the surge even if he had known it would work. Now this Democrat says we should reinstate the draft to make people dislike the war more (I'm assuming that is code for, dislike the republicans).
http://thedaily.washington.edu/2008/6/2/mcdermott-...
So have we had it wrong all along? Are the Democrats using the draft for political gain, or do you think this is perfectly fine?
4 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy do we give so much out in foreign aid to countries that hate the US?
Why does the US give it so much money to countries that hate us and the money usually ends up in the hands of corrupt leaders in that nation or is stolen, when we could be getting rid of our deficit, cutting taxes, or paying back the social security deficit.
17 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoDid you know that Georgia did not start the conflict with Russia?
I have heard a lot of people accusing Georgia of starting the conflict. I wanted to point out that separatists in South Ossetia,Georgia were attacking Georgian solders and the soldiers did not fire back. Georgia offered a ceasefire and the separatists did not accept. Then Georgia had to use soldiers to keep the separatists from going causing more violence. Then Russia sent their soldiers into Georgia and all the way near the capital of Georgia. I think it is funny how some people online assumed Russia was telling the truth. They are getting involved in a conflict that is not their business and used it as an excuse to go deep into the country. Now Russia had ignored 5 (I believe) ceasefires and 3 pullout deals that they signed. Who do you think is at fault?
8 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoWhy did so many people complain about McCain's attack ads?
But when Obama released one, I don't see dozens of people saying how it is just old politics etc. Why is this?
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo you think people just say they respect McCain for his service but don't mean it?
I have heard a lot of people say, "Well I respect McCain for his service, but he is so old and got shot down how can he lead!"
Just things like that where they say they respect him and then start saying really bad stuff about him.
Do you think people throw out, "I respect (enter name) for their service but..." too freely.
16 AnswersElections1 decade agoAre CNN, Foxnews, etc. delayed?
Are these news sites delayed on Business news? I keep up very well with business news. I will see a story on CNBC and then like 2 weeks later I will see it on CNN. Like right now it says, "America is on sale" on cnn and it is talking about the dollar being so weak. I've been watching business news and on CNBC it is, "Most investors are moving into American markets because the rest of the world is on the way down. The dollar is going back up and oil is down."
Does the mainstream only like doom and gloom stories or are they just delayed?
1 AnswerMedia & Journalism1 decade agoDo you find it strange?
Do you find it strange that the majority of liberals believe the government should run our healthcare and be heavily involved in other things like media censorship, but when it comes to things like abortion a major argument is the government should just stay out of our lives and we should all mind our own business? What do you think?
Also, when people say that pro-lifers are hypocrites because they support the death penaly, don't you think the liberals are also being hypocritical because they support the death of innocent "Fetus's" but not the death of guilty, horrible criminals? Or is the fetus guilty of making the woman distressed and the criminals are just misunderstood?
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoObama changes for Christians?
Do you find it interesting that Obama says things like ,"I don't want my daughters to be punished with a baby." and on his website he is totally pro-choice, but as soon as he goes to an evangelical forum he says, "Abortion choice is above my paygrade."
Also what about Obama totally supporting gay marriage on his website but when asked at the Christian Forum again he said, "Marriage is between one man and one woman."
What do you think? Flip-flop? Pandering? Honest mistake? Eloquence?
13 AnswersElections1 decade agoDo you think McCain did really good at the Rick Warren thing?
McCain seemed to be in his element at this event. And he didn't bash Obama once! I think we need to see more of this version of McCain. What do you think?
11 AnswersElections1 decade agoIf Some Democrats say we need to raise taxes because the rich allegedly don't pay them because of loopholes.?
How would raising the taxes help? I head many of them say we need to raise the tax because the rich get around them. If we raise them, it will only hurt the honest tax payers. The rich will just keep getting around them right?
8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoObama against unproven missile defense systems?
Why is Obama opposed to investing in unproven missile defense systems but it pro unproven alternative energy (what I mean is solar and wind and others are not nearly efficient enough yet). If the system is unproven then obviously it needs more investment to become better. Duh. Also he is for slowing down making new weapon advancements. What do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl32Y7wDVDs

8 AnswersOptical1 decade agoWhy does the opinion of a judge decide when human life starts?
I've heard the argument for pro-choice say that it is right because they believe that life starts at a different point than I believe. Why do we have to accept their decision on when life begins? Why does one judge get to decide for the whole country when life starts? My point is, the pro-choice movement says that they believe life starts at a certain point and so it is therefore ok. Why do we have to accept their idea? What makes them so special? Sorry if I this question doesn't make any sense.
