Democrat wants draft to make a political point?
Is everything Democrats do with the war for political purposes? Obama willing to vote against the surge even if he had known it would work. Now this Democrat says we should reinstate the draft to make people dislike the war more (I'm assuming that is code for, dislike the republicans).

You seem to forget there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. We were lied to by Bush and you drank the Kool Aid and believed we were freeing the Iraqis. This war was about oil and we are paying with our economy for what? Now you have the nerve to talk about the surge. if the surge worked then let's get the hell out of there.

Well, McCain recently agreed that a draft is in order to boost the military ranks and support more wars. What's the problem?

Because right now the only ones suffering for this are our armed services.
The people that volunteer to join, or are duped into it by a recruiter without realizing what they are getting into.
They deserve our respect, and deserve to DEFEND THE COUNTRY, not wage war for corporate profits.
Most of America is lazy, and inattentive to the distress of our military. By forcing them to look at it, it will make a public opinion about it. Just like Vietnam did.
