spasms in infant/toddlers.... is it normal?

my son is almost 11 months.

when he was about two weeks old he had spasms, im guessin thats what they are, in his right foot. i haven't noticed them much anymore since he was about 4 months old. now almost 11 months old he is having twitch spasms, i guess, in his right shoulder. is this normal? is it jus twitching spasms that will go away or should i take him to a neurologist or some kind of doctor? or should i wait till he is a toddler?

Update:

the pediatritian said that he was okay and that spasms are okay but i never got a second opinion. his shoulder twitches are alot harder then his foot twitches were. and he always shakes his head 'no' is that normal, maybe his hair tickles his ears? or could that be linked with the twitches i wander....

Update 2:

thank you for your answers. the ped. said that he is perfectly healthy i'm jus really worried about these spasms/twitches and i don't know if i should go somewhere else and get a second opinion. does anyone elses baby have this?

You really need to consult your child's pediatrician. This may be something normal or it maybe something that needs attention now. So, take the baby to a pediatrician and if they think he needs a specialist than they will refer you to someone else. Good luck!

i heard that if you shake your baby when it is young it may have spasms, but im not sure. i would take him to a doctor of some sort, to be on the safe side.

if you think there is something wrong talk to your ped. they may suggest where to go. i wouldnt wait because if it is a neurological disorder you want to start treating it as soon as possible. before something worse happens.

if it is during sleep twitching is normal during rem sleep.

you have to go and ask his pediatrician..dont wait..who knows it might be an allergy...you dont want to get it infected..
