Why do people call themselves President/CEO/Owner?

All of those titles consist of the same role, right? I hope it isn't annoying me when it shouldn't be.

Not the same thing at all. President is the head of Operations for a company. The CEO is the Chief Executive Officer, usually the chairman of the board of publically traded companies. The Owner is just that, the person that owns the business. Some companies are owned by many or by stockholders.
