then rancid, the off spring, green day, nirvana, pearl jam, guns 'n roses wouldn't exist either... and if they wouldn't exist, then all the bands influenced by the bands that were influenced by the ramones wouldn't exist...and so on. just goes to show how important the ramones were in rock 'n roll history.

The world of music would be a sad place and there would be a lot of bands that also never would have existed.

For me personally...
Nothing would have been different.
But for some true punk rock fans...that would have been a huge loss.

There would have been heavier media emphasis on the "art-bands". (i.e., Talking Heads)
Not that it's necessarily a good thing.

It wouldn't have affected music in the slightest, punk rock on the other hand would be a lot different.

the stooges helped start it in the late 60s.

CBGB's wouldnt have been well known but they are still famous for their bands they brought.... but now its closed :(
