Prices on horses - free to cheap?

Question

This is really not a question so much as dispersing some info.  I have seen on Arabads yahoo group some extremely reasonable - even cheap and a few FREE Arabians all over the U.S.  Also there is a horse rescue place in Pueblo CO called Dream scape  I think but it is Dream something anyway that has several hundred horses they are trying to place.

I don't if this will help anyone looking for a horse, but maybe it might help rescue a horse from a poor situation.  I think a lot of these people that are trying to place their horses - have lost jobs and are unable to continue taking care of them.

What you are trying to do is great. Look into rescue places. Especially if you are looking for a specific breed. Make sure they don't have any behavioral problems. Sometimes people give up their problem horses because they don't have the means to take care of them or their behavior is unbearable or they have serious health problems that aren't seen right away. (I ran into that issue with a quarter pony I had once)

Just make sure they get along with your other pets or children if you have any. Make sure they don't get spooked easily or are sensitive about having people around their rear. If you are just looking for a companion horse rescue is the way to go. As long as the horse fits your lifestyle. You'd be doing more harm than good when rescuing a dangerous horse.

edit-yeahhh i agree must love pets, i was wondering on their behavorial and health issues, but i still would be happy to take one. I'll just have to not fall in love with all of them =]
