  • What are these pans for? I am sure they have a specific purpose but what?

They are made by Savemaster. They are heavy popped aluminum. The smaller one is the size of a 9" pie plate. The larger is 14". They are shallow like a pie plate and have small handles on either side that are shaped like a hammer head and the handles are about 4' wide. They are very old but in good ccondition. Thanks!

  • How do you feel about taxing Obesity?

Apparently there is research in the House to back up proposing a bill that would tax obese people separately. The figures read that they could raise 255 billion in 10 yrs.

Lately I've noticed more and more interviews, talk about etc on obesity and what it is costing the government.

Apparently they could go after obese people in several different ways such as your dr would report what percentage over the normal body fat you carried and then you would be taxed appropriately.

If you google Tax Obesity you will get tons of results from many many different sources.

I personally feel that is a personal freedom and do not want it taxed or impinged, however, though this is exactly how the taxes on cigarettes got started - for all their talk of 'saving' money I haven't ever heard that it saved any.. at least the health care costs did not go down as predicted.

  • Who do you think the military members and retirees support ?

Subject: Army Times Poll On Presidential Race

The Army Times is the official newspaper of the US Army. I suspect

that most polls would be similar to this if they were not reported by

the liberal media and the pollsters would not target the democratic

public. Here are the results of the Army Times' poll of Military personnel (in percent):

    McCain Obama

    Overall 68 23

    Army 68 23

    Navy 69 24

    Air Force 67 24

    Marines 75 18

    Retirees 72 20

    White Non-Hispanic 76 17

    Hispanic 63 27

    Black/African-American 12 79

    Enlisted 67 24

    Officers 70 22

Somehow I missed seeing this in the New York Times. This explains why Democrats in general and Obama in particular doesn't care if the military has the opportunity to vote AND have their vote counted.

It's clear that the vast majority of the U.S. military (except for

the black people) do not trust Obama to attempt to lead them as the

    Commander-In Chief.

Did you hear they had to ORDER our troops not to spit on Obama when he was overseas??

  • Need recommendations for web site building software?

    Hi,

I have been using FrontPage since 2003. I am getting ready to re-do our 2 website stores and found that since MS has discontinued FP my host will not continue to support in a yr or 2. Do not want to have to redo then.

I need something that has no 'page limit' as we need a lot of pages. I use paypal buttons and have shopping cart, but am not using the cart as we no longer accept credit cards.

I need something simple like FrontPage and hopefully not too pricey - free would even be better! I don't know much HTML and don't have time to learn it, so has to be something simple.

I have a Dell with 144 gig hd and 1000 mgs of ram and run winxp pro.

Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated. TIA!

  • Has anyone checked out 'write in' votes? This is what I found!?

I admire many of R Paul's stand on issues. I thought this was very interesting.. and possibly not really well known information I thought I'd share.

    Ron Paul quote:

    June 16, 2008

A Write-In Campaign for Ron Paul? No

Posted by Lew Rockwell at June 16, 2008 03:47 PM

Here is what Ron says: "I don’t think that’s very productive. Supporters can do it, of course, but in most of the states it won’t count. And if they can change the rules in a primary and not count all the votes, imagine what they could do with write-in votes!"

    2008 Presidential Election Write-In Rules

Rule 1 - Write-in votes will not be counted if the candidate does not file as a write-in candidate.

Rule 2 - Write-in candidates are not allowed in presidential elections.

Rule 3 - A candidate losing the primary cannot file as a write-in candidate in the general election.

  • Prices on horses - free to cheap?

This is really not a question so much as dispersing some info. I have seen on Arabads yahoo group some extremely reasonable - even cheap and a few FREE Arabians all over the U.S. Also there is a horse rescue place in Pueblo CO called Dream scape I think but it is Dream something anyway that has several hundred horses they are trying to place.

I don't if this will help anyone looking for a horse, but maybe it might help rescue a horse from a poor situation. I think a lot of these people that are trying to place their horses - have lost jobs and are unable to continue taking care of them.

    Just a thought. Thanks!

  • How many people believe in Obama's plan of Taxing us and how will it affect you if he is elected?

    CAPITAL GAINS TAX

    MCCAIN

0% on home sales up to $500,000

per home (couples) McCain does not

    propose any change in existing

    home sales income tax.

    OBAMA

28% on profit from ALL home sales

    How does this affect you?

If you sell your home and make a profit, you

will pay 28% of your gain on taxes.

If you are heading toward retirement

and would like to down-size your

home or move into a retirement

community, 28% of the money you

make from your home will go to taxes. This

    proposal will adversely affect the

elderly who are counting on the income

from their homes as part of their retirement income.

    DIVIDEND TAX

    MCCAIN 15% (no change)

    OBAMA 39.6%

    How will this affect you?

If you have any money invested in stock

    market, IRA, mutual funds,

    college funds, life insurance, retirement

    accounts, or anything that pays

or reinvests dividends, you will now

be paying nearly 4 0% of the money

earned on taxes if Obama become president.

    The experts predict that 'higher

tax rates on dividends and capital gains

would crash the stock market yet

do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

    INCOME TAX

    Married making 60K - tax $16,800

    Married making 75K - tax $21,000

    straight forward.

    INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

    OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you? Many families

  • What do you think about Obama's illegal campaign contribution?

According to Federal Election Commission filings, Barack Obama has received illegal donations from Palestinians living in Gaza, a hotbed of Hamas terrorists.

Obama received more than $24,000 in campaign contributions over a period of two months last fall from three Palestinian brothers from the "Edwan" family in Rafah, Gaza, which is a Hamas stronghold along the border with Egypt. The story was uncovered by Pamela Geller of the Atlas Shrugs blog. (see Federal Election Commission report)

Attorney and conservative commentator Debbie Schlussel notes foreign nationals are barred from making contributions in connection with any election -- federal, state, or local -- and an individual is allowed to give only $2,300 per election to a federal candidate or the candidate's campaign committee.

"The donations are basically through and through illegal -- that's number one. And number two is how the Obama campaign tried to conceal it," Schlussel chides. "They listed the campaign contributions as coming from Rafah, Georgia. They used the 'GA' from Gaza so it makes it look like it's legal; and then for the zip code it says '972,' which is actually the area code to dial over to Gaza," she contends.

The attorney comments that if the Obama campaign is willing to "accept thousands of dollars beyond the legal limit and they're also going to flout [Federal Election Commission] restrictions...that's very indicative of what kind of president [Obama] is going to be."

"They're not going to be worried about the details and they won't mind if they break the law to get to the final result that they want," adds Schlussel. She believes it is a "major news story when a presidential candidate receives money from 'a bastion of Islamic terrorism.' And Schlussel argues that the media is "bending over backwards to help Barack Obama and cover up any negative news about him."

Schlussel says Pamela Geller will likely file a Federal Election Commission complaint against the Obama campaign for violating restrictions and limits on campaign contributions

    Still trust'em?

  • Is this reason enough for Christians not to vote for Obama?

    A Catholic Case Against Barack

    By Patrick J. Buchanan

In the Pennsylvania primary, Barack Obama rolled up more than 90 percent of the African-American vote. Among Catholics, he lost by 40 points. The cool liberal Harvard Law grad was not a good fit for the socially conservative ethnics of Altoona, Aliquippa and Johnstown.

But if Barack had a problem with Catholics then, he has a far higher hurdle to surmount in the fall, with those millions of Catholics who still take their faith and moral code seriously.

For not only is Barack the most pro-abortion member of the Senate, with his straight A+ report card from the National Abortion Rights Action League and Planned Parenthood. He supports the late-term procedure known as partial-birth abortion, where the baby's skull is stabbed with scissors in the birth canal and the brains are sucked out to end its life swiftly and ease passage of the corpse into the pan.

Partial-birth abortion, said the late Sen. Pat Moynihan, "comes as close to infanticide as anything I have seen in our judiciary."

Yet, when Congress was voting to ban this terrible form of death for a mature fetus, Michelle Obama was signing fundraising letters pledging that, if elected, Barack would be "tireless" in keeping legal this "legitimate medical procedure."

And Barack did not let the militants down. When the Supreme Court upheld the congressional ban on this barbaric procedure, Barack denounced the court for denying "equal rights for women."

As David Freddoso reports in his new best-seller, "The Case Against Barack Obama," the Illinois senator goes further than any U.S. senator has dared go in defending what John Paul II called the "culture of death."

Thrice in the Illinois legislature, Obama helped block a bill that was designed solely to protect the life of infants already born, and outside the womb, who had miraculously survived the attempt to kill them during an abortion. Thrice, Obama voted to let doctors and nurses allow these tiny human beings die of neglect and be tossed out with the medical waste.

How can a man who purports to be a Christian justify this?

If, as its advocates contend, abortion has to remain legal to protect the life and health, mental and physical, of the mother, how is a mother's life or health in the least threatened by a baby no longer inside her -- but lying on a table or in a pan fighting for life and breath?

How is it essential for the life or health of a woman that her baby, who somehow survived the horrible ordeal of abortion, be left to die or put to death? Yet, that is what Obama voted for, thrice, in the Illinois Senate.

When a bill almost identical to the one Barack fought in Illinois, the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, came to the floor of the U.S. Senate in 2001, the vote was 98 to 0 in favor. Barbara Boxer, the most pro-abortion member of the Senate before Barack came, spoke out on its behalf:

"Of course, we believe everyone should deserve the protection of this bill. ... Who could be more vulnerable than a newborn baby? So, of course, we agree with that. ... We join with an 'aye' vote on this. I hope it will, in fact, be unanimous."

Obama says he opposed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act because he feared it might imperil Roe v. Wade. But if Roe v. Wade did allow infanticide or murder, which is what letting a tiny baby die of neglect or killing it outright amounts to, why would he not want that court decision reviewed and amended to outlaw infanticide?

Is the right to an abortion so sacrosanct to Obama that killing by neglect or snuffing out of the life of tiny babies outside the womb must be protected if necessary to preserve that right?

Obama is an abortion absolutist. "I could find no instance in his entire career," writes Freddoso, "in which he voted for any regulation or restriction on the practice of abortion."

In 2007, Barack pledged that, in his first act as president, he will sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which would cancel every federal, state or local regulation or restriction on abortion. The National Organization for Women says it would abolish all restrictions on government funding of abortion.

What we once called God's Country would become the nation on earth most zealously committed to an unrestricted right of abortion from conception to birth.

Before any devout Catholic, Evangelical Christian or Orthodox Jew votes for Obama, he or she might spend 15 minutes in Chapter 10 of Freddoso's "Case Against Barack." For if, as Catholics believe, abortion is the killing of an unborn child, and participation in an abortion entails automatic excommunication, how can a good Catholic support a candidate who will appoint justices to make Roe v. Wade eternal and eliminate all restrictions on a practice Catholics legislators have fought for three decades to curtail?

And which Catholic priests and prelates will it be who give invocations at Obama rallies, even as Mother Church fights to save the lives of unborn children whom Obama believes have no right to life and no rights at all?

Is this enough of a reason to vote against Obama?

Someone sent me this in an email. There was no citation. I tend to take things like this with copious amounts of salt. Can anyone find a reliable source for this other than some random email. Or is it someone slandering a) Billary or b) Obama or c) both?

"Subject: Is Obama Legally Eligible to Serve as President?

SOME TIME AGO HILARY SAID SHE HAD SOMETHING ON OBAMA THAT WOULD CHANGE THE ELECTION AND THAT'S WHY SHE ONLY SUSPENDED HER QUEST FOR THE PRESIDENCY, WELL HERE IT IS.

This came from a USNA alumnus. It'll be interesting to see how the media handles this...

Barack Obama is not a legal U.S. natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth, which falls between December 24, 1952, to November 13, 1986. Federal Law requires that the office of President requires a natural-born citizen if the child was not born to two U.S. Citizen parents. This is what exempts John McCain, though he was born in the US Panama Canal Zone .

US Law very clearly states: '. . . If only one parent is a U.S. Citizen at the time of one's birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for minimum ten years, five of which must be after the age of 16.' Barack Obama's father was not a U.S. Citizen is a fact.

Obama's mother was only 18 when Obama was born. This means even though she had been a U.S. Citizen for 10 years, (or citizen of Hawaii being a territory), his mother fails the test for at-least-5-years- prior-to Barack Obama's birth, but-after-age-16.

In essence, Mother alone is not old enough to qualify her son for automatic U.S. Citizenship. At most, 2 years elapsed from his mother turning 16 to the time of Barack Obama's birth when she was 18. His mother would have needed to have been 16 5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama's birth for him to be a natural-born citizen. Barack Obama was already 3 years old at the time his mother would have needed to be to allow him natural citizenship from his only U.S. Citizen parent. Obama should have been naturalized as a citizen . . . but that would disqualify him from holding the office.

The Constitution clearly declares: Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President. Though Barack Obama was sent back to Hawaii at age 10, any other information does not matter because his mother is the one who must fulfill the requirement to be a U.S. Citzen for 10 years prior to his birth on August 4, 1961, with 5 of those years being after age 16.

Further, Obama may have had to have remained in the USA for some time frame to protect any citizenship he might have had, rather than living in Indonesia . This is very clear cut and a glaring violation of U.S. Election law. I think that Governor Schwarzenegger of California should be very interested in discovering if Obama is allowed to be elected President without being a natural-born U.S. Citizen, since this would set a precedent. Stay tuned to your TV sets because I suspect some of this information will be leaking through over the next several days."
