They are right up their with Wal Mart, one of the biggest sellers in the country and world! You can often buy things for well under retail price (up to 50% off), sometimes pretty close to wholesale but not as cheap as Wal mart wholesale/retail scale. People make a living finding items at lower prices or selling their new and old stuff. But often you can find mint or brand new items very cheap. I have purchased hundreds of items on Ebay over 10 years. I follow one simple rule, purchase from someone who has a perfect feedback rating (I mean flawless), not 95% or 97%. Remember for every one person that complains, there are 5 that didn't say anything. Don't buy off of sellers that have a lot of negative feedback, no matter how many sales they do. Always buy items that state their condition and never buy items that say "As Is". A good seller will generally have a return policy that is fair. And always use Paypal, never send checks, money orders, money transfers, or wire transfers. Paypal gives you pretty much 100% assurance you won't get ripped off. That along with buying from reputable sellers with good feedback and watching the item descriptions closely, you can't go wrong. Happy shopping!

Well, ebay is real. My advice is:

1-check the sellers ratings. Make sure you buy from someone that has an outstanding selling record to ensure delivery.

2-you can read comments from past buyers. This helps so you know that previous customers were either happy or displeased.

3-only place a bid on an item that you seriously intend to buy. If you back out of buying, the seller can give you a negative rating making it difficult to buy from others.

4-compare shipping rates. Many sellers make their money by hitting you hard with shipping costs. Yes, you may get an item for $3, but is it worth it if the shipping cost is $20??? Always check this amount before you make a bid.

The rest is pretty self explanatory. Just make sure you navigate around the site for a few days to get the ins and outs. Read all the fine details first!

EBay is real, there are a lot of people that use the site and have never had problems with it. There are some mean people on eBay that say they will send you the item for free or something and end up taking your money. You should be careful when using sites like those, you never know what kind of person you are buying from.

Ebay is a website that people auction real life items on just as if it were a real auction except it is on your computer without a announcer yelling the prices and the auctions will usually last a couple of days or even weeks or months.

    It's "real" AND it's "fake"

Sure, there are scammers, but if you read the description closely, check the seller's feedback, and avoid anything even the slightest bit shady you should be OK.

And personally, I only use PayPal. PayPal has it's issues but in my opinion it's the safest way to go.

there are some scams but most people are legit. i've bought and sold off ebay and it was great every time. make sure to click on the sellers name before you buy from them and look at their feedback, if it's all positive and good, you should be safe buying something from them.

Your spelling offends me. eBay is a well known auction site, if you aren't sure whether it's real by now you never will be. I've bought many things from ebay and have only had a few problems so I can't complain.
