Well, not trying to be rude...?

Admit it, you were expecting something really, really rude, right? =0)

Are the people you claim say that it's not their fault they're overweight the ones whom you also claim are only getting junk food (in your words)? That can be two different categories. Just because one is overweight doesn't mean s/he knows better, despite all of the information that is available in the mainstream meda. Also, even if they do have an idea that they should be eating better than what they are, but that doesn't mean they know how to obtain good information. Also, from what I undersand consuming junk food can be addictive, whether it be the chemicals, the habit of just buying the same stuff to get in and out of the grocery, or as I said, they really don't know better. Along the lines of what Future DD said, it's easy to self medicate with food, or without, whether one avoids it or takes it in a little too much. I've been on both ends-- The end where I didn't care (eating too much, especially pure junk) and the end where I wanted to control something in a world where I didn't think I had control (avoiding food). Are you saying that one has to fit into the US culture's image of "pretty" (bone thin, if not thinner) to wear short skits and belly shirts? I think that short skirts and belly shirts (wether they are worn together or separately) look trashy and tacky regardless of the person's size. Perhaps they're shunning society's defintion and have high self esteem. Besides, if you're curious enough, just ask them. Remember, curiosity killed the cat in his ninth life. Also along the lines of what Future DD said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

I was sooo prepared to be righteously indignant. It's like hearing tires squeal but no crash.
