I need to get my makeup done - which counter should I go to? ?

I'm in San Diego so I have pretty much *everything* to pick from. My 10 yr class reunion is this weekend and I want to get my makeup done. In the past I have usually gone to MAC but is there another good alternative?

If you used to go to MAC, then the next best "trendy- cool" stop would have to be Urban Decay. They are awesome and hip...a lot like MAC. Their lipsticks come in little bullets, lol...but their products are really good and at a great price. I have tried Clinique and all the rest- but if I can't have MAC then it's Urban Decay all the way!

You could try Clinique. I really like their makeup. Or Lancome. What I usually do is go look at every counter and see which one has the best new make-up because it's always changing and sometimes one brand will have neater stuff than the others. And pretty much all high brand makeup is decent. When in doubt, stick with MAC since you like them. MAC is probably one of the best out there. I do understand the need to try something new though. Good luck!

It really depends on the actual MA (makeup artist)

I've been to Dior counters with horrid MA's who made me look like a clown

So it really depends on the people. But from my experience with the widest range of colors I'd try an Urban Decay counter. They've tons of colors to choose from so you can pick a look to match with just about anything.

If you want a more toned down look, I really like Lancome. The girls there really do a good job at making you look really natural all the while enhancing your positive features.

The Shiseido girls take FOREVER. Literally FOREVER. I just wanted a natural everyday look and the girl who did it for me took like over half an hour and made me look terrible. While my cousin just wanted an eye look. And her woman took like an hour and it looked the same as when she stopped 10 minutes earlier and decided it wasn't "enough".

The Benefit girls are really fun to talk to and they show you a wide range of stuff so that's fun too.

I haven't been to many counters but I hope this helps you with your choice at least a little bit =]. Knock 'em dead at your 10 year reunion!
