Why all the hype about Bohemian Rapsody?

Why didn't You shoot a lightning bolt out of Your ar-se and wake Youself up then?

It deserves all of the hype it gets. The song is masterpiece, written by the greatest singer/songwriter of all time. The way Queen is able to transition a slow, piano laden beginning into a kick *** guitar solo is pure genius.

Even though Freddie himself is the only person who really knows what the lyrics mean, that mysteriousness about the song is what keeps people listening.

In my opinion, it is the greatest rock song of all time, and you either love it or hate it.

I think it is a beautiful song.

I don't really know how you could fall asleep though (I know you're not speaking literally). I'm a metal fan, I enjoy the heaviest bands with the heaviest songs, but softer songs like BR just sound cool to me and I appreciate songs that make me feel this way.

Because it's a classic. And it was such an unusual song, nothing like what they had done before. Freddie Mercury had to talk the other guys into recording the song - their initial response was, "We can't sing opera!". :)

Even if you don't personally like it, which is ok beause opinions are subjective, you have to admit it is a beautifully constructed song. If not then MY personal opinion is that you're ignorant. =)
