We, human-kind, are dependent on the environment to survive. Were it to drastically change it could mean the end for us.

Remember though, we live in an universe of change, its an eventuality. You can not avoid it. Ideally, we would be able to survive to the point where we can create our own sustainable environments so we are not as dependent on this one. However, any serious attempt at a non-Earth dependent sustainable habitat is a long ways off.

there are those people who do not understand that the environment is not nor ever was stable.nature cannot be forced into a mold dictated by mans imagination. There have always been changes in the creatures that become extinct, only to be replaced by others. Even man will someday pass from history and be replaced so the sustainability is a fictional concept.. We can only delay the end by trying to be more careful in how we treat the environment. Presently there are too many people in the world using up resources that we depend on.and the modernization of large populations like the chinese has increased our dependence on the fossil fuels, which are now less than we need worldwide. To sustain the environment, deplete the human population.

So that our leaders can control us. Sustainable development, if taken to the proponents ultimate goal, would ensure that every action of every person could be monitored and thus controlled.

There are larger quantities trees on the earth today than there were 200 years ago. The same holds true for every "resource" on the planet except water. But while water is finite, it does not get used up never to be used again. Every drop of water on the planet is eventually recycled back into potable water by nature......every drop. While some areas are experiencing water shortages, it not because we have lost water. It is because people have chosen to live in areas without a reliable water source.

Environmental sustainability pulls on the heart strings of those who feel they haven't "left their mark" on society, and they see it as a way to make a difference.......gag......gag. These "worthless people" are then used as tools by those who want control. The Democrat party leadership in the U.S. is one such group. They despise the idea that people should have free will. They know much better than us what is good for us, once again.......gag....gag. Beware any idea that says that we have to do something for the "common good" of the people. That idea was first successfully put into print by that great lover of freedom, Karl Marx. The publication was the Communist Manifesto. It is important to note that in this publication there were ten goals that needed to be achieved in order for there to be a successful Communist regime. 5 of these are the talking points of every prominant Democrat politician. Read it and beware of environmental sustainability, and any other movement that is being promoted as for the "common good" of all people.

Um..do you live in your environment? Do you think that since you have been given the chance to live your life in an environment conducive to living that it might be a good thing to leave the environment in decent condition so that future generations might be able to have that chance as well? Sustainability increases the likelihood of that chance being available.
