What do you think was the most embarrassing moment of the Beijing Olympics?
Personally, I thought the most embarrassing moment came during the Opening Ceremonies when U.S. President George W. Bush was slumped in his chair, obviously bored with the whole thing, and demonstrating a complete lack of respect for his Chinese hosts, and - once again - humiliating the United States of America. Like the spoiled rich kid that he is, Bush proved that he has no 'class', little integrity and crude, abominable manners.
Thank goodness Bush wasn't there for the spectacular pageantry and beauty of the closing ceremonies. He would have only shamed the American people all over again.

Being a South African, i think our south african competitors barring ONE are extremely embarrased!!
If Mandela was still in office, our olympic competitors would have been well informed, groomed, and polished.
Our S.A. president mbeki has been like bush since he first started in office. An absolute waste of time!!
He has also been accused of FRAUD in the ZUMA case trial, yes, which is still going on.
Perhaps Mbeki, Bush and associates should have their own office in Zimbabwe alongside the gorilla (mugabe zoo).
and, the highlights for me was definately watching the Jamaicans running, absolutely phenominal!!!!! what are they eating????? hee hee.

p.s. most of our talent has immigrated!!!! they are living in your countries. There will be no more talent for south africa now. The only talent left are the professional thieves., and yes i know because i said I am South African the pale kind, I will not even get a point. It's o.k. , well done to all your competitors who achieved medals. Bye!!

I take it you didn't witness Boris Johnson - the Mayor of London - at the closing ceremony then. You think Bush has abominable manners?

China - the little girl who was lip synching Ode to the Motherland
US - the Baton drop (supposed to be the best team...?)
France - getting their smack-talk shut up!
LOL
I wish some of the commentators would have shut up every now and then, though. They killed the synchronized swimming for me.

Were you really and truly embarrassed that the president seemed bored? The typical male is not interested in pomp and pageantry. I'm glad the president went to China to show respect to their country. Many countries were talking about boycotting the opening ceremonies, so I was happy to see Bush, as well as the former President Bush, at the ceremony with their family.

I felt so bad for the guy who was "supposed" to win the 8th gold in diving. I would have been embarrassed. Poor guy.
