What themes do you use as an artist and why?

Just curious. I need some inspiration from other artists.

As an artist, most of my philosophy is based on WABI SABI - that there is beauty or artistry in imperfection. But Wabi Sabi is not that simple as to say that. To learn more about it, you could some research on it. Here's a site that you can check out to learn more:

The natural world - coral reefs, tropical rainforests mostly. They are the most familiar and comfortable for me to use. My art is primarily intended for young children so I often 'take liberties' to make the critters a little more inviting to young kids. I always try to provide reasonably accurate pictures as well as groups of animals that logically would be found in the same ecosystem.
