Blueberry Sauce? Need advice.?
I'm baking a Mexican Blueberry Bread Pudding for an event tomorrow morning. It's not what I consider a traditional BP as there is no egg or milk. The bread is tossed with butter and cinnamon and soaked in a peach syrup mixture (lemon juice, rind, water). It also includes chopped pecans, Monterey cheese and blueberries. I'm used to having some kind of sauce or pudding to pour over BP.
Based on the ingredients, your preference and culinary knowledge: Should I make a Blueberrry Sauce? I've also found a recipe for a Cinnamon Blueberry Sauce for guest to pour over if they wish.
It's my first time making this bread or a sauce so your advice would be helpful. Thank you!
Nay sayers....blueberries and cheese go well together. Fruit.....cheese.....
It's just coming out of the oven, it smells and looks wonderful!! I think a sauce will be good - I think I will hold off on the cinnamon one. Lemon sauce? Now that sounds delicious! And yes, it has about 2 tbsp of Lemon juice and 2 tsp of rind.
Thank you! I am being adventurous. I usually play it safe when I cook! It's a Mexican Themed Lunch - it will be the groups biggest meal of the day.
Thanks granny! It's for the Pioneer School ;)

I am wondering if this is a brunch or dinner?
If you want this to be a sweet ending to dinner, then I would make the blueberry sauce. But the ingredients for the bread pudding sound like it would be a fabulous brunch dish. In that case I would make a a lemon sauce OR just very slightly sweetened whipped cream (Like from whipping cream NOT Cool Whip)
Good for you being adventurous!

A blueberry sauce would be good, or a lemon sauce as there is lemon in the BP. I don't know if I would make a cinnamon blueberry sauce though, you already have the lemon/peach/blueberry flavors going on.
