Jehovah's Witnesses if Jesus never meant for anyone to think He was God...?
Why did they think He was making Himself out to be God?
Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Joh 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
And furthermore, he was also crucified for this very reason... that the people believed He was claiming to be God.
Would God allow our Savior to be crucified for a lie?

I am not a JW, but I am not a trinitarian, either. To put the situation in layman's terms, Jesus was putting a real damper on the Pharisees' monopoly of the Israelites' spirituality and worship, so the pharisees wanted him removed, but they didn't have anything on him because he was innocent! So they trumped up the charge that he was blaspheming by reasoning that since he claimed to be the son of God, then he is claiming to be God. They were twisting his words, and even Jesus pointed out to them that he was well aware of what they were doing in John 10:36 (KJV 1611)- "Say ye of him, whom the father hath sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Sonne of God?"
Right there Jesus basically says, "Are you telling me, the one whom God has sanctified and sent into the world, that I blaspheme just because I said that I am the son of God?"
Which brings us to your final question- God DID allow Jesus to die, not FOR a lie, but BECAUSE of a lie! Jesus died FOR the purpose of redeeming us from sin, but without lying, there is no way to condemn a totally innocent and sinless man! The charge against Jesus was blasphemy. He did not blaspheme, because at no point in the entire Bible did Jesus ever say, "I am God". He only claimed to be God's son, which is not blasphemy! Even if Jesus IS God, then the charge of blasphemy would still be a false charge (a lie), because it's not blasphemy for God to call Himself God, either! But Jesus never did that. He always stuck with, "I am the son of God".
BTW- Where in the Bible does it say that "the people believed" that he was claiming to be God? To my recollection, the Bible only states that the Pharisees and those non- believing Jews who sided with them were 'accusing' Jesus of it. It never says that they actually believed it!

Not a JW. The Watchtower teaches against Modalism which is a three headed/three faced God with one body which is pagan.
The difficulty is that many people believe in Modalism.
Modalism teaches
God is God
Jesus is God
Holy Spirit is God
Each is an aspect of God or a mode of God. Modalism is heresy
The Trinity is not Modalism
Jesus is Jesus not God Almighty.
Jesus is He that all was created through and with God from eternity.
Jesus in the flesh was God among us Immanuel. But not the Father.
God is greater, God is Spirit and incorruptible whereas the human body of Jesus was corruptible and lower than the angels.
God is God. God cannot die. Jesus' body passed through death and was raised. God Almighty has not died and is eternal.
The Holy Spirit is a separate person and does nothing that is not the will of God. The Holy Spirit has been with God from eternity and is Wisdom, truth, and life the very essence that makes a body alive. The Holy Spirit is not only "an active force but also a person. The Holy Spirit is not God Almighty but a part of God as is Jesus.
Anti trinitarians try to box God into a limited form. Parameters can not be placed on God. God can not be fully understood without the Holy Spirit acting in a person.
Jesus was God "stamped" into human flesh but not God Almighty and a form the Creator used to be Savior. Jesus' body was raised incorruptable.

Actually, the question is more interesting than it at first appears. I think.
I think the people did think he was a god if not God, hence his power to perform miracles.
I think he also thought he was a god, if not The God.
I think its interesting that the gospels mention that he did not have as much success in his home region as outside it. This is interesting for me in from the aspect that belief was an element of success in performing the healing miracles.
If his power was as the Son of God or God why did it make a difference whether the people believed in his power or not?

If I am a child of a man and woman I am a human Equally human as my parents are human. If I am the offspring of two full blooded Cocker Spaniels I am a full blooded Spaniell If I am offspring of two Hard shelled turtles I am a hard shelled turtlel BUT if I say I am God's Son I am only the Son of God not the same as Him as all others are the same as those who brought them forth or a god like satan ,demons and angels are. Nothing more. Perfectly clear to me .Simple reasoning .

No. Jesus as a spirit creature is a god-like individual. But Jesus has a God. His Father is his God. Revelation 3:12: “‘The one that conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will by no means go out [from it] anymore, and I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem which descends out of heaven from my God, and that new name of mine. Once again, the title "the Alpha and the Omega" as well as the title "Almighty" don´t refer to Jesus. They refer to his father, Jehovah God. Revelation 1:4-5: KJV John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from HIM WHICH IS, and WHICH WAS, and WHICH IS TO COME; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5...AND FROM JESUS CHRIST Now compare to verse 8: KJV I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, WHICH IS, and WHICH WAS, and WHICH IS TO COME, the Almighty. Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010) I am The Alap and The Tau, says THE LORD JEHOVAH God, he who is and has been and is coming, The Almighty. Revelation 21:22: Aramaic Bible in Plain English (©2010) And I saw no Temple in it, for THE LORD JEHOVAH God Almighty, he is its Temple. 23And The Lamb and The City do not need the Sun or the Moon to illuminate it, for the glory of God illuminates it, and The Lamb is its lamp. That was one more episode of "What Trinitarians Don´t want You to Know."

Who said that Jesus was making himself equal to God? Not Jesus. He defended himself against this false charge in the very next verse (19): "To this accusation Jesus replied: . . . 'the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing.'"
By this, Jesus showed the Jews that he was not equal to God and therefore could not act on his own initiative. Can we imagine someone equal to Almighty God saying that he could "do nothing by himself"? (Compare Daniel 4:34, 35.) Interestingly, the context of both John 5:18 and 10:30 shows that Jesus defended himself against false charges from Jews who were drawing wrong conclusions!

Why did they think He was making Himself out to be God? But he wasn't.
"Joh 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God."
Did the Jews want Jesus dead for claiming to be God? NO! They wanted Jesus to die because he called God his Father. Isn't that different than saying Jesus was God?
"Joh 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God."
Why did the Jews say this to Jesus? It was because Jesus claimed to do something that they felt only God could do. And that was to give everlasting life to other humans. Speaking of his sheep Jesus told the Jews at John 10:28: "And I give them everlasting life, and they will by no means ever be destroyed." Jesus' claim to give eternal life to humans did not make him God. He was given the power BY GOD to give life. In his prayer to his Father, Jesus said: "For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him." (John 17:2) Also, at John 5:26, Jesus said: "The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son."
So, when the Jews said to Jesus: "You make yourself God," they were, in efect, accusing Jesus of trying to play God. (John 10:33) In any event, Jesus said to the Jews in verse 36: "I am the SON of God," NOT God himself.
"And furthermore, he was also crucified for this very reason... that the people believed He was claiming to be God."
NOT SO! At John 19:7, the Jews went to Pilate to have Jesus killed. Why? Because Jesus claimed to be God? No. They said to Pilate: “We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself God’s son.”
During Jesus' execution, did his enemies say Jesus claimed to be God? NO! They said at Matt. 27:43: "He has put his trust in God; let Him now rescue him if He wants him, for he said, ‘I am God’s Son.’”
Does any of that sound like the Jews ever heard Jesus claim to be God? NO!

Philippians 2:6 who, although he (Jesus) was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God.
Hebrews 2:9 but we behold Jesus, who has been made a little lower then angels, crowned with glory and honor for having suffered death, that he by God's undeserved kindness might taste death for every man.
Jesus never claimed to be equal to God or a trinity. It was a necessary thing for Jesus to die so that we may gain salvation and that Jehovah God's purpose for the Earth and mankind may be fullfilled.

Not a jw anymore, still don't believe that Jesus is God, but this debate will continue until the end of time, the point is, Jesus died for our sins to be forgiven, that was a huge sacrifice that we should not take for granted, Trinity, no Trinity, Jesus is our saviour, we should thank God for that. Each to his own, as long as you believe....
