can a cat get worms from an infected dog??
My friend's dog has worms and he is bringing her to my house for a visit. Should I be worried about my cats?

Maybe alittle because sometimes worms can actually come out of the anus, but only in cases where the worms have gotten pretty bad already. But if your cats go outside and the dog poops outside you may want to bag it up. Worms can get in the soil and if your cats go there and dig around in it they could possibly get worms too. But usually it's not a huge deal unless the worms are pretty bad already. Worms are very easily treated too.

Worms can cross species so not only can your cat get them off this dog but so can you and any other pets you own.
However, if your cat is up-to-date with it's vaccinations then it should be covered against worms. You just need to make sure that you wash your hands after being in contact with the dog.

Your friend should WORM her pet BEFORE BRINGING it into your house.
Cats and dogs when they first meet are usually not friendly so they will stay away from each other.
Fleas on the other hand WILL travel from one to anohter and infect your house.
so make sure THAT is taken care of!
