Do you think it is funny that Republicans are attacking Obama because he is a "celeberity" when?

McCain is a huge supporter of Gov. Arnold and the Conservative base of the party thinks that Reagan was a god, a person who became famous for staring in movies. Isn't it kinda funny that they attack Obama for his celebrity status when one of the most prominent members of the Republican party got elected due to his celebrity status and they worship a former actor who became President.

Update:

Grow up... what have you nothing to counter with. I am making the point that these attack ads are really pointless and I feel that it is completely insane that people attack Obama because he is popular.

Update 2:

No I am stating that it is funny that Republicans criticise Obama for being a celeberity when they deify Reagan who first became popular by being a celeb.

Update 3:

I do remember the Reagan Presidency and I also remember that he put people with mental handicaps on the streets and doubled the national debt. I do not remember good economic times like you claim.

Update 4:

You are right it is not the same type of celebrity, Obama became famous for his stance on the Iraq war and his policy issues such as nuclear proliferation while Reagan and Arnold became famous for starring in movies.

    How soon some people forget:

McCain was the media's darling back in 2000. He didn't recieve flak then, why does Obama now?

Reagan gained name recognition as a result of his acting career, but he became "famous" as a result of his speech for Barry Goldwater in 1964.

Reagan became popular because his positions inspired and attracted the American people, including many Democrats. Obama's positions became popular because, as many of his supporters say, "He is cool and he is hip." This is evidenced by the fact that many of Obama's followers don't understand what his positions are or what they are based on.

Obama is an example of style over substance. Reagan is an example of substance over style.

Be careful of comparing Barack Obama to Ronald Reagan. They are two class acts. The problem is that Obama is LOW class. Reagan is on the other end of the spectrum.

You probably don't remember the good economic times under Reagan, when the economy grew by 40 percent. Do you remember ANYTHING from that time?

That is funny, I think that republicans have this double standard, that they can do under handed things, and its ok, but then they want to point it out like its so horrible for someone else. Typical republican. Wasn't GWB the one talking about how terrorist attacks were wrong, and the people responsible would pay, it was so horrible when they came over and bombed us, now we're over there killing innocent people while GWB has Saddam, hiding in his basement playing video games. All for oil. And come on the terminator as a Governor, that was the first sign that the world was headed straight to hell.

We're talking different kinds of celebrities. Movie celebrities have to do with show business...besides, Arnold is not the President. Obama is a political celebrity. he only does things to appeal to mass crowds and cares not about the individual. Kind of like McDonald's. Appeal to many. Sell many. The few that are not satisfied are ignored. Simple.

They don't think Reagan was a god. He just believed in God. He didn't get elected due to his celebrity status, he was elected because of his beliefs and education. Unless you are not old enough, he only gave us the best economical time in history. Obama is not a celebrity. He is a total unknown that changes his mind with the tide.

So are you admitting the selection of Reagan was a good one? Do you hope that Obama emulates Reagan's example? I think that in total, Reagan was a mixed blessing. For all the good that he did, some of the worst scandals to take place in the Executive branch happened on his watch. Is Reagan a good indication of what Obama will be?
