The best butchers I know is the Scotch Produce centre at Lomber Hay Farm, Andrew Lane in a village called High Lane just outside Stockport off the A6 towards Buxton. I may be biased because I grew up there but I live in Blackpool now and still go back there for meat. Their haggis is great.

The guy that owns it used to have a store in the Trafford centre but he finds it more profitable doing farmers markets around the North West.

You might find the Chatsworth farm shop in Pilsley has some Scottish savories too.

Yes, there are a few in my neighborhood and I try to drop in and buy when I can although their mark-ups are usually 2-3 times that of the local supermarket. The 5 & 10 is slowly depleting of stock because the owner seems to be preparing to quit the business so isn't replacing a lot of stuff (and I have always LOVE 5 & 10s). All the corner stores are "m&p" stores and I think they stay in business mainly because they are open real early in the morning and stay open late at night. We even have a small Japanese gift shop/food store which is great but I worry whether they will be able to meet the rent every month because store rents in my area are so bloody high and the landlords don't seem to care if they raise the rents as often as it is legal (and they don't seem to care if their store space stays vacant when one tenant has to give it up--we have a lot of vacant spaces available for years and years). We don't have any chain stores in the neighborhood--we once had a BurgerKing but the locals would'nt buy there so it went away.

My brother is in Manchester, but from Clydebank, nr Glasgow.

He has us bring tonnes of Scottish goodies down to him when we visit!

Sometimes he finds what he is looking for in Asda...
