Some Christians believe in evolution, but NO atheists believe in creation...?

Obviously, atheists do not believe in gods, so they have no "creator" to believe in.

I'm just saying, don't creationists ever find it odd that NO "non-believer" ever sets out to study and research how we got here and comes to the "creation" conclusion? It's only believers... only people who *want* to come to that conclusion.

Thoughts?

Update:

Edit: To "ronbo" and "The Christian" - Creationism is only for those Christians who are Bible literalists. Many Christians do not believe that the seven days in Genesis were literal. Christianity doesn't necessarily mean your branch or brand of Christianity.

Update 2:

Doctor Foo - Was that aimed at me or was it a general statement? I'm a former Christian, so... yeah. I'm with you on that...

Creationists claim that we have different presuppositions. I would say that they're wrong. Scientists and Atheists have no presuppositions, while Christians do, and they take the data to fit them, while scientists, atheists do not.

It's reasonable, therefore, to conclude that science not affiliated with religion is more accurate.

Very true, though some atheists who believe in other creation myths based on different religious (but not godly) beliefs will obviously follow the same pattern.

Science will have it's scientists with agendas but usually no one wants to be a scientist unless they're just fascinated with the truth so hopefully that keeps them to a minumum.

However, even where it does occur, the scientific method and the infrastructure built up to aid scientists in communication and understanding is such that these agendas will be layed bare very quickly indeed. That's why faked discoveries are soon discovered to be false because for every paper that comes out outlining a finding or discovery, many other scientists repeat the experiments or examine the same evidence and there are many reasons for them to expose frauds!

This has happened reassuringly few times but those times are enough to prove that no lie will last very long at all, least of all over two centuries as the discovery that life evolves, proven by various patterns in nature including biogeography, the fossil record, homology and most recently and decisively, genetics has. Along with a very sound theory to explain how it occured by natural selection of course.

Edit: A breaking story that demonstrates what I'm talking about. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/08/08082...

Speciation is the evolutionary process by which new biological species arise. The biologist Orator F. Cook seems to have been the first to coin the term 'speciation' for the splitting of lineages or "cladogenesis," as opposed to "anagenesis" or "phyletic evolution" occurring within lineages.[1][2] Whether genetic drift is a minor or major contributor to speciation is the subject matter of much ongoing discussion. There are four geographic modes of speciation in nature, based on the extent to which speciating populations are isolated from one another: allopatric, peripatric, parapatric, and sympatric. Speciation may also be induced artificially, through animal husbandry, agriculture, or laboratory experiments. All forms of natural speciation have taken place over the course of evolution; however it still remains a subject of debate as to the relative importance of each mechanism in driving biodiversity.[4] One example of natural speciation is the diversity of the three-spined stickleback, a marine fish that, after the last ice age, has undergone speciation into new freshwater colonies in isolated lakes and streams. Over an estimated 10,000 generations, the sticklebacks show structural differences that are greater than those seen between different genera of fish including variations in fins, changes in the number or size of their bony plates, variable jaw structure, and color difference.

christians like to read the parts of the bible that fit their needs and wants. If you're such a fan of the bible then I sure hope you don't eat shellfish or cut your sideburns. Beacause thats a sin. In addition you are supposed to stone unruly children to death. It's in there too. But those are the parts you gloss over while you're looking for the part that says no man shall lay with another man. Keep reading the parts you like and forget about the ones that make you sacrafice. It must be a beautiful way of living

    Ronbo, you are an idiot.

    I don't "believe" in evolution, it's real.

I would tell God that but I'm pretty sure he'd have to exist in the first place to be able to hear me.

Ronbo, if God's everywhere can't I tell him now: You are a liar, God.

Intelligent people start with a question and look for answers. That is how they became intelligent.

Ignorant people start with an answer and use it for every question. That is why they remain ignorant.

There is a reasonable (though highly suspect) case to be made for Intelligent Design, but Biblical creationism is just flat-out mythology. It boggles my mind that anyone over the age of 4 can believe in it.

1 There is no evidence for creation, lots for evolution

2 in order for there to be creation, there needs to be a creator. Atheists don't believe in creators so no creation ( 1 backs up 2)
