Why do some people focus so much on Obama's race, religionetc or McCain's age instead of their political views?

i mean, here we are in america having martin luther king jr day to honor him for what he tried to do in the 60s, and veteran's day to honor those who served our country. and yet there are so many people who would rather focus on other stuff about the candidates that have nothing to do with how they can improve america.

In politics it is easier to garner victory by discrediting your opponent than by challenging them on the issues. You cannot really fault the politicians as much as the people for this. The reason is because if we did not allow these tactics to effect our decisions then they would be useless as tools for the politicians. Sadly, our society is more about perception than substance.

I agree! I think the madness is fueled by the ridiculous media questions and coverage and the inability of a brainwashed society to come up with their own questions and opinions.

Because they are ignorant of the issues of their own candidate and the opposing candidate.
