With so many great homes, neighborhoods, and cities in America, how do you determine where you want to live?

Family- close to my family, close to my husbands... sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice- LOL

Probably not an exciting tale….I grew up in a small town, and then moved a few hours away (still in the same state) to college, thinking I’d move far away after college. Then I met the love of my life two months into my freshman year so I got a job, graduated, got married and bought a house here. His job is one that would make moving difficult so we’re here to stay.

Otherwise though, I’d be looking for a balance of affordable homes with proximity to services like retail, doctors, and whatever else I needed. I hate having to travel far to run errands.

I've lived in all 3 counties and in the SF bay area and they are all different. Most people pick their neighborhood by proximity to work. If that doesn't matter to you then you have to decided what you can afford, and then what's most important to your lifestyle. So many factors: air quality, nightlife, close to recreation, and on and on.

The main criteria is job location, how close it is to your job and price.

I chose were I currently live because I grew up here, and my Dad needed competent office help at the same time I needed a change. I currently rent from my dad also so my costs are low.
