How does the watchtower justify it's big guffaw on last 4 Armageddon dates?

Did the Watchtower assoc. help all those recoup their loses when they sold everything they had getting ready?

Update:

Just curious....also how did they come up with these different dates?

How about these four Armageddon dates which should count no less than the last four.

    ____

    ____

**1935 - "Armageddon just months away"**

"...the scriptural evidence and the physical facts strongly indicate that such witness work is now almost done; and when it is done the universal war will begin. Universal war is absolutely certain to come and that soon, and no power can stop it. ...during the few remaining months until the breaking of that universal cataclysm the powers that rule the nations of the earth will continue to make treaties and tell the people that by such means they will keep that world peace and bring about prosperity. (Universal War Near, 1935, p. 3, 26-27)

**1938 - "avoid having babies just before and during Armagedddon now around the corner"**

...mark the words of Jesus, which definitely seem to discourage the bearing of children immediately before or during Armageddon....It would therefore appear that there is no reasonable or scriptural injunction to bring children into the world immediately before Armageddon, where we now are." (Watchtower, Nov. 1, 1938, p. 324)

    **1941 - "Armageddon months away"**

"Receiving the gift, [Rutherford's book, Children] the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon." (Watchtower Sept. 15, 1941, p. 288)

    **1942 - "any day now"**

"The faithful acts of the men who were known as fathers in Israel are recounted in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews. Genesis 12:1-3; 28:13,14; Acts 7:2-5....These men will be the visible representatives of the Theocracy, which is the government created and built up by the almighty God as his capital organization and which shall rule the world. Further proof that these princes will shortly take office upon earth as perfect men is found in the prophecy of Daniel. But go thou thy way till the end be; for thou shalt rest and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. (Daniel 12:13) Daniel's lot is that of these princes. Proof is now submitted that we are now living at the end of the days, and we may expect to see Daniel and the other mentioned princes any day now!" (Consolation, April 27, 1942, p. 13, brackets in the original)

    ___

    ___

Followers can fool themselves all they want because the any day now, just around the corner, monthes away has been used to manipulate for a long long time.

The problem is that the average JW only stays in the organization about 20-25 years before they either leave or pass away. Believe it when the people that tell you about the manipulations from the 1960's through 1975 both in talks and in print.

    ____

    ____

Forty years ago before most of the Watchtower apologist on board Y! were born this was written:

"Just think, brothers, there are only about ninety months left before 6,000 years of mans existence on earth is completed... The majority of people living today will probably be alive when Armageddon breaks out, and there are no resurrection hopes for those who are destroyed then. So, now more than ever, it is vital not to ignore that spirit of wanting to do more." (Kingdom Ministry, March 1968, p. 4 [note: 1968 + 90 months = 1975])

    ho-hum...

    Sorry... couldn't help myself.

I get that way every now and then.

But IF you provide just one example that would give us something to go on.

I must admit though. would you really accept an answer regardless of what it was?

As far as people recouping losses. The individual is responsible for their own decisions. The Watchtower Society doesn't encourage anyone to bank on any particular date. We all know that the Bible says no man knows the day or the hour. Knowing that we only look at the possibilities.

If an individual wants to place that much importance on a possibility that is up to them. The society neither encourages it or discourages it. However, to bank one's financial state on such a possibility is one thing, to bank one's faith on it is another. The overwhelming majority of Witnesses do not take the course that you suggest and even our organization does not. They have the next year's district conventions pretty much planned a year in advance indicating that they are prepared for this system continuing on because they know that none of us know the day or the hour.

Post a Reference where the Watchtower has said " Armageddon is coming on such & such a date".

And what 4 dates were those?

    Source references please?

And sorry that Vot lol's at the idea, but why would anyone sell anything in preparation for Armageddon? Where would they be taking the money? Post-Armageddon Walmart?
