Yes Ayers was part of the group,but he did not bomb anything and was acquitted of all charges in a court of law,

Ayers was a political activist when Obama started his career as a city councilman, he publicly condemned the actions of the group.

maybe we should be asking why we went to war in Iraq because of Weapons of mass destruction that did not exist, why are we not asking why Bush attended parties by the head of Enron while he was Governor and president.

Why were 7 US attorneys fired by the administration for not towing the party line, when the position is not a political appointed one.

Why was the Vice president sitting on the board of a company that got the largest government contract in history, (Haliburton) charging our government 45 dollars a meal for soldiers on active duty in Iraq and when investigated said it was a clerical error that was responsible for the over charges, (clerical error for two years!).

So you've done your research, you sound a little bitter, did I hit a nerve? I see you didn't have an answer for any of the issues I raised nor did explain your stance on the matter, I think you should come down and just start looking at the things that matter, and not what the media and some far right wing group tells you to think, but if indeed you think that is more important then the things I have mentioned, please explain yourself.

It matters because it happened 30 years ago when Obama was 8 years old. Avyers is no threat to us now. If he was, why doesn't Bush's Home Land Security got him under lock and key? They don't because he's a respected professor now. Many of us who lived through the LONG Vietnam War where we saw body bags on the nightly news day after day understand what drove some people to turn against the government back then to protest that war. Note: understanding what drove Ayers does not mean we condone it in any way but he isn't the international terrorist the Republicans are trying to make him out to be. He also claims his words about not being repentant were misquoted and misrepresented.

He spent his time in prison, and paid his dues. He then began working in community programs. Obama talked to him when they worked on the same board of directors of a community organization.
