Can I use DDR1 on my computer using DDR2?

I have 2 DDR333's lying around after my laptop broke. I got a new computer, and it has a slot available, but you know these days computers come with DDR2's.

Is it possible to use the old RAM on the new computer? I heard that both DDR1 and DDR2 for laptops have the same pins.

The notch in the in the middle of the pins is slightly off disabling you from installing DDR1 into a DDR2 slot.

    Here is an example:

DDR1 and DDR2 motherboards have different connectors, so it wouldn't work. If you were thinking of switching the RAM in your laptop, don't. Modding a laptop isn't like modding a PC and you will most likely break it. There is a reason noone sells custom parts for laptops...
