Why are people so shocked about government officials lieing in office? ?
I'm on the fence on what party I fit more into, which seems to be the case for alot of people I talk to.
What I don't understand is the people who are totally committed to the party they vote for over and over again who say "Well the other party lies all the time" Well I can say I am an outsider on both parties and they ALL LIE!!
Why do people expect for there to be someone, anyone running for elected office to NOT LIE...
It just seems to me that were deciding over which ball of sugar coated bull$h!t to vote for that sounds like something that could stick to the wall...
Why do so many people get so shocked after who they wanted in office starts doing so many things they said they wouldn't do?

I think your missing the point, at least my point, which is that since Bush, the Republican Philosophy is a lie. They have to convince the middle class and poor that tax cuts to the Rich somehow helps them. Everyone knows it is a lie since they have been doing it since Reagan and look where we are.
The Democrats plan is to give stuff to people. There are no lies involved. Health care, education, raise tarifts (more jobs over and revenue here). Obama even tells them he is going to have a net tax increase on the wealthy, which is also true, to pay for most if not all of it. Now, maybe some numbers and some plans don't add up, but that is really not the kind of lying that the Republicans do. It is a level of magnitude different.

Nobody lies like these Neo-Cons however. How about Bush torturing prisoners? - how about treason in the Beverly Plame case? No president EVER has been as bad as Bush. Lies are the stock and trade of the republican party - and it's now the only thing they have left. If you like lies, they have plenty.
