help me please.ecu question?
my vtec isnt wrokin on my 1.5 vtec del sol and i checked the ecu and it looks like its from a scrap yard. it has details in white pen. it says civic 1.5 esi jap abs-lsd on it. my question is, is this a vtec ecu or a standard 1.5 ecu?

brakers do use white pentel marker pens to mark up stuff....as for it being the wrong one,if it was it wouldnt work...when matching up ecu's for customers its just 3 numbers we match up in out of the many numbers on the ecu.

The ECU will be correct - if it was wrong, your engine management light would stay on.
Very rare for there to be a fault with ecu or mechanicals in these engines, are you sure there's a problem?
Make sure the oil is clean & of the correct grade for the VTEC to correctly function.

Almost certainly it's the wrong ECU. The Esi Civic was an "economy" version rather than a performance car, so it's probably not telling the Vtec to lift the camshaft far enough, if at all.
