Yes, I recently changed from Dem to Independent. I will vote on the person not the party for now on. Of course it may be because I have grown up some, or maybe this election has opened a lot of peoples eyes. Voting partisan is just dangerous!!!

Source(s): William, I will start voting more Liberatarian on state and local levels

Not that I can see. Most members of Congress get elected from states/districts which vote consistently for the same party. That is, most voters in the country, if they vote Democrat for President, they also vote Democrat for the House and the Senate; most voters who vote Republican for President also vote Republican for House and Senate. If more voters were becoming independent, then most members of Congress would be getting elected from a district that votes the other way for President.

i'm 28 and have been independent since i registered to vote 10 years ago. i chose it because there is no way i could agree with the major principals of either major party exclusively.

i know people who have changed to independent because they get discouraged with politics as a whole. i think the group hasn't really grown or decreased.

I am a libertarian and many people agree deeply with my views, but they still vote democrat or republican. I guess we will have to get ready for the Amero and the stripping away of even more constitutional rights.

I guess you could call them independents to give them a title. I would prefer moderates. They are not total liberals or conservatives. They usually are somewhere between on issues and policies.

They are because the Republican party has strayed away from it's conservative roots and the Democrats are being scared into not voting for Obama based on his background.

The reality is that one of the two parties will get elected, so people better vote for Obama if they want actual change in Washington.

Because Republicans have some screwed up plans and the DNC....voting for a democrat is unheard of.

No. They see some promise in the McCain-Palin ticket for reducing government.

the only reason there are more independants is because alot of republicans are ashamed of their party thanks to bush.

whoever is next...if they are good alot of independants will consider themselves whatever party that president is.
