Suzuki Boulevard C50 Speedo Problem...?

My C50's speedo seems to get stuck between 55-60mph. If I accelerate, eventually the speedo will correct itself when I am going 75-80mph.

I was riding this afternoon and all was well. I parked the bike for about 45mins at a store. On the way home, I noticed the problem. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred, so I have no clue as to what may have caused the problem. Any ideas?

Being that it's a holiday weekend, I wouldn't be able to get it into a dealer for warranty work until Tuesday at the earliest.

Any answers from people familiar with servicing bikes would be greatly appreciated.

i think probably is it the speedo sensor in the front wheel. it may need replaced or adjusted to proper set up. i had mine go out because of incorrect dealer set up. it acted up once or twice then completely stopped working. on an 04 volusia, same as c50, they changed the name in 05.

I know a woman who has a 2004 Suzuki Volusia, which is the same thing as a Boulevard C50. She has had no problems with it so far. I have ridden it a few times. The engine starts easily and pulls away effortlessly. The bike feels substantial, so many riders will enjoy long cruises. I don't care for the riding position on this or any other cruiser, but that is just my personal preference.
