Is it possible that McCain knows Obama is best as President?

And is purposely making the statements and choices he has in order to lose the election? This is a serious question, so please try to only give serious answers.

Update:

I will report insults and they will be deleted. Those who disagree or support McCain will not be reported, as they are providing a serious response, though will get a thumbs down from me!

Update 2:

MS S- no, it is not an insult.

Update 3:

Ernesto- your response, beyond "no" is not related to the question.

Update 4:

plugnickle (lol, I like your screen name), TexasMom, alex and change now- it will be hard to decide between you for best answer! Each of you, I feel, have hit on at least a piece of all this. I have to wonder if McCain (and his party) knows that his candidacy is a long shot, and he is half-hearted about it.

Update 5:

plugnickle (lol, I like your screen name), TexasMom, alex, riddick and change now- it will be hard to decide between you for best answer! Each of you, I feel, have hit on at least a piece of all this. I have to wonder if McCain (and his party) knows that his candidacy is a long shot, and he is half-hearted about it.

Update 6:

plugnickle (lol, I like your screen name), TexasMom, alex, riddick, tickled blue (like your name too) and change now- it will be hard to decide between you for best answer! Each of you, I feel, have hit on at least a piece of all this. I have to wonder if McCain (and his party) knows that his candidacy is a long shot, and he is half-hearted about it.

Haven't thought of it that way. Seriously, he has talked repeatedly about his ambition to be president...McCain says his ambition to be president is what drove him, not his desire to help the country or out of some great or noble cause.

I think he wants to be president so badly that he is willing to forego his beliefs and his character to attract the Christian Right's vote/support with Palin. I know he doesn't think she has enough experience and I know, based on everything he has said, that he wouldn't feel comfortable leaving the country in her hands....but his ambition to be president overrides all other decisions.

if that was the case he would have dropped out. It costs millions of dollars to run and it would be a huge waste of time and money and stress just to throw the race. And just because liberals dont believe in his choices doesnt mean that people who have actual thoughts dont. I believe in the McCain Palin ticket all the way.

I seriously cannot take your question seriously. Is that an insult?

Why would McCain try to throw the election when he has tried so many time for president? Now, finally when it's his turn, he is dragged across the coals for introducing new thinking and new blood and new oil to our country.

He needs to stay on track with developing alternative energy for conserving our resources, but in terms of fossil fuel, we are getting taken to the cleaners.

NO. Your conspiracy theory has no basis. All you have to do is find out that John Kerry was one of the most left wing politicians who ran against a more conservative George Bush and was rejected by most Americans from being president. Now Senator Obama is even more extreme left than John Kerry and so he will lose even more so from a middle- of- the- road John McCain and a conservative vice president. Americans as a whole are more middle-of-the-road to conservative not extreme left to middle of the road..

I don't think that is possible. McCain thinks he is best for the job. He believes that his VP pick is a good one. Obama, like Bill Clinton, thinks he ought to run the world and thinks everyone should see that he is the Best. Biden has had to

    settle for the VP pick.

Oddly enough, I think this sometimes too. Maybe they're just seeing where America is as a country by putting on such a weird show politically. But I know the GOP isnt that clever, besides...why do that?

Biden, on a post-debate appearance on MSNBC, October 30, 2007: “The only guy on the other side who’s qualified is John McCain.”

I think McCain is doubtful of his chances, after seeing the excitement of the the supporters of Obama. His choice of VP is so risky that it might seem a self defeating. The Hurricane Gustav will give him a chance to avoid the Bush connection and his bad choices.

For the past 2 elections we've had steaming bowls of crap to choose from. Obama is a n00b and McCain is too set in his ways. To be honest, neither is a good choice.

McCain knows that Obama is smarter than he is. I wasn't there when McCain went thru Annapolis, but since he graduated three from the bottom he probably spent more time in the bars than the library.

Obama is gifted. He went to law school. Don't know if McCain did.

I think McCain knows tha Obama is the better candidate.
