How do you feel about this?

There was a news story on NPR. The local police of St. Paul tried to do a preemptive on possible protesters. Raided their homes. If they found items such as an ax in their shed. They said it was evidence. How is this part of our right to assemble? Isn't this the same thing they did in China for the Olympics How do you feel about this?

Update:

Update 2:

prekinpdx-Thank you for the links. I posted the question shortly after I heard it.

Some of you are just lost as to what we are as a country. I'm so sorry for this.

I would sue for violations of my 1st and 4th amendment rights to start. That is not constitutional.

They did this to a few homes. Here are some links with info. It's typical and violates one's civil liberties, but unfortunately, to be expected. Salon.com has been on it for a few days.

We're living in a Fascist State under a De Jure Government, and everyone represents themselves as corporations, so technically, until we refute our corporate status and challenge jurisdiction, they can do whatever they want, legally, not lawfully.

So you are saying that it would have been better to let possible violent protesters to walk on up and do as they please. Most liberals are very vocal on what they plan on doing, there are entire websites devoted to how to defeat security at the RNC and how violent you can get before getting arrested. A little sick to me, and if a few of them were inconvenienced and were unable to "attend" the protest and cause violence, GOOD!

Damn...I hope they don't come to my house. I have an axe, and a shovel and a hoe, and a rake, and a lawnmower, and all kinds of anarchist tools.

The Denver police did the same thing to local citizens there, and it wasn't big news then either....

My feeling is that they didn't do enough. Have you even read the stories about the trouble protesters are causing?

Harassing delegates, slashing tires, breaking windows, pushing burning dumpsters into police cars..

"Members of the Connecticut delegation said they were attacked by protesters when they got off their bus near the Xcel Center, KMSP-TV reported. Delegate Rob Simmons told the station that a group of protesters came toward his delegation and tried to rip the credentials off their necks and sprayed them with a toxic substance that burned their eyes and stained their clothes."

There's a right to peacefully assemble, but liberal protestors seem to not understand that and can't ever keep their "peaceful organizations" in line.

It's time these cities start behaving like patriotic Americans and just say no to Republicans.

Source(s): What? Provoked by police? A police riot? As in "oink, oink"? You don't say! I do say! Mrs. Schlorer's!
  • they arrested like 80 protesters, the news coverage makes it seem to be provolked by the police also
