You mean the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The BBC are devoting a lot of Radio 4 airtime next week to what they are calling "Big Bang Week" and the website says that the switch-on is due to take place at 08:30 BST (07:30 GMT/UTC) on Wednesday 10 September.
