How does a newly ordained Minister advertise to officiate weddings?
As a newly ordained minister my brother is trying to meet the needs of couples who may have difficulty finding clergy to officiate their wedding ceremoney.
He has a non denominational christian prison ministry but would like to also make himself available to interfaith couples, military couples and couples where one partner may be incarcerated but wishes to make vows while in jail or prison.
During his prison ministry he met an inmate whose fiancee was pregnant and wished to be married but the couple was unable to find a clergy to officiate the wedding.
Can anyone suggest a way for a minister to make his services available to couples who may be having difficulties finding clergy due to extenuating circumstances?

Start by doing weddings for friends and family members at no cost, they will spread the word, and if he does a great job, he will start to get a lot of calls.
He can also make occasional posts on his local craigslist. But word of mouth is going to be the best way to go about this, as many people don't want to trust their big day to someone they have never heard of.

I would slip some cash or a giftcard inside a book about writing or public speaking. Perhaps with a note about "the words of love falling easily from your lips"? If there is a registry of course you can always buy off that. My uncle is a pastor and I know that a bible actually wouldn't be that great for them. Most people at that level already have several bibles they purchased for seminary and are very attached to...its like buying a person on swim team a bathing suit. However, there is alot of work involved in writing their sermons and he was a little nervous his first few when he got up in front of the entire congregation of his new church. He and my aunt were also pretty poor after just graduating and everybody can use cash.

1. Meet local correctional officers and offer info. on services.
2.local newspapers announce engagements, follow the leads.
3. Go to soup kitchens and get involved to get leads.
4. Make a small card and advertise on local boards, keep replenishing cards in restaurants and country kitchen outlets.
5. advertise in blogs
6. make a web site
7. distribute a small brochure 9'' x 11' divide by 4 at football stadiums and playgrounds
8. Go to used wedding gown places and explain your services
9. Get a list of caterers small and explain your services
10. Get a list of halfway homes and call on them
11. Go to homeless shelters and preach
12.You have found to start your own group. charge a fee of $1 per week
13. Increase your membership to meet your sustenance
14. I am not a preacher- A slight adaptation and you can do anything else
